Girls first County Squad to UL with Kerry doubly represented:
UL in Limerick will be the focus of attention for our County squads over the next few weeks. The Kennedy Cup, for the boys, kicks off on Monday June 10th.
Before that it’s the Girls turn with the 14’s Gaynor Cup, from Friday May 31st to June 3rd, and Kerry are in Group A alongside Clare, Galway and the favourites the Metropolitan Girls League (MGL).
The squad has been training at Listowel Celtic for the last few months under Brendan Hogan and Paula Henry and is made up of girls from Listowel and Killarney Celtic, Killarney Athletic and Kingdom Girls.
Kerry kick off their campaign on Saturday at 10am with the toughest game. They face the MGL, which is the League that runs all underage Girls football in Dublin.
At 2.30pm on the same day the Kerry girls will take on Galway while the following day, Sunday June 1st they round off their Group campaign when they take on Clare.
Sunday afternoon sees the play-offs continue with the games to decide the placings and the finals set for Monday morning.
