Kerry 14’s join Cork at the top of the table:
Kerry went into their latest SFAI Subway 14’s game in second place in the Group on 4 points from 2 games behind Cork who have 7 points but have played 3.
And Kerry made the trip to the WIT to take on Waterford a winning one. They started the better and an Andrew Kerins goal had Kerry ahead early on. Waterford got their equaliser just before the break.
Into the second half and Kerry’s winner was a cracker with Seamus Kelly beating the home keeper from distance. Kerry now take on South Tipperary in Mounthawk Park at 2pm this Sunday.
11’s ETP enjoy double outing against Limerick County:
The young Kerry star’s in the 11’s Emerging Talent Programme welcomed their Limerick County counterparts to Christy Leahy Park for four games with both Leagues winning two each. The Leagues will play each other again next week where different squads will be on duty. Today over 90 players at u11’s were involved with the KSBGL.
Opening Round of 11’s Cup and Shield:
Before a ball was kicked by the 32 teams in the 11’s Cup and Shield there was great news for the competition. In conjunction with St Brendan’s Park and the families of two great soccer stalwarts who have passed away the Cup will be named in honour of John Dowling and the Shield in honour of John O’Flynn.
On the field there were John Dowling Cup wins for Camp Juniors and Listowel Celtic in Group A, Inter Kenmare in Group B with Killorglin and Tralee Dynamos drawing, LB Rovers and Killarney Athletic took the wins in Group C while Mastergeeha and Iveragh United opened their Group D campaigns with wins.
The John O’Flynn Shield was equally as exciting with MEK Galaxy winning in Group 1 where the Camp Juniors and Park C played out a draw. Group B was the same with a draw in one game between Inter Kenmare and Ballyheigue while Listowel Celtic defeated Killorglin.
Group C saw wins for Killarney Celtic and Fenit with Park D and Iveragh United winning in Group D.
Athletic wins Killarney derby in 13 Premier
Leaders Killarney Athletic took on their neighbours Celtic in the World of Tiles 13 Premier. And it was the Woodlawn side that were 3-0 up at the break and won 7-0 in the end. Luke Doolin 2, James Dempsey, Brian O’Shea, Fionn Daly, Simon Jazinski and Liam Hennigan got the Athletic goals.
In mid-week Tralee Dynamos moved up to joint second following a 5-2 win over Fenit. The Dynamos goals came from Alex Hoare, Darragh Cummane, Dylan Buckley and Evan Quilligan.
Fenit got back to winning way when they defeated Killorglin 2-0 in their second game of the week. Michael O’Sullivan got both Fenit goals in a 7 minute spell to wrap up the three points.
Home wins in 13’s Division 1:
Both home teams recorded wins in the 13’s Division 1. Inter Kenmare had wins from Ethan O’Sullivan who hit a hat trick with Caoileann Desmond getting the fourth. James O’Neill and Ryan Brady got both goals for Killarney Athletic.
Mastergeeha were 6-2 winners at home to Killarney Celtic B whose goals came for James Coffey and Pa O’Brien. Sean McAuliffe 3, Ronan McCarthy, Tadgh Herlihy, Evan O’Sullivan and David Darmody all hit the net and it was the Kilbrean side that took the three points.
Two wins and a draw in 13 Division 2:
MEK Galaxy put in a very strong all performance to take the win at home to Ballyhar Dynamos. The MEK goals came from Eanna Murphy, Neal O’Shea, Jamie Vousden, David Butler and James Daly.
Also adding to their win percentage were Killorglin B who won away at Mastergeeha. Dylan Counihan and Dylan Flynn got the Killorglin goals with Farak Miah replying for the home sikde.
Park the victors in 14 Premier derby:
Goals from Immannuel Manu 2, Sean Corkery and William Jackobi gave the Park all three points from their trip across the road to Tralee Dynamos.
Celtic’s and Iveragh take the spoils in the 15 Premier:
Killarney Celtic done all the damage in the first half in their 15 Premier win at home to the Park. All the goals in their 4-0 win came in the first half thanks to Edward Myers, Robert Brooks and Kalvin O’Sullivan.
Listowel Celtic came from 1-0 down to defeat Killorglin 3-2. Paul Costello put the visitors 1-0 up but the home side hit back with two from Oisin Healy and one from Cormac Dillon. Oisin Birmingham pulled one back late on but the day belonged to Celtc.
Iveragh United made the trip from South to East Kerry a winning one as they defeated Mastergeeha 2-1. Oisin Breen and Ciara O’Donnell were on the mark for Iveragh United.
15’s Shield begins:
The opening game of the 15’s Division 1 Shield Group 1 saw Rattoo Rovers and LB Rovers drawing 2-2. Thavien Buckley and Jack Mallon got the goals for LB Rovers.
In Group 2 Tralee Dynamos were 6-2 winners at home to Killarney Athletic B. Goals for the Dynamos came from Alex Hoare and Jamie O’Shea hit two each with Luke Horgan and Darragh Commane getting one each. Ryan McCarthy replied with both goals for Killarney Athletic.
Fenit were 5-1 winners at home to Killorglin B in Group 3 with goals from Oran Murphy 2, Cian O’Gara 2 and Alex McGrath. The Killorglin goal came from Ryan Carey.
Girls Leagues:
In the Girls 13 Premier Fenit and Iveragh United shared 8 goals in a 4-4 draw. Meave Courtney hit 2 with Kate Foster and Keelon O’Shea scoring for the South Kerry girls.
In Division 1 Killarney Celtic Green had goals from Jessica Leggate and Emma Daly who both hit two each with Liadh Forde getting the other goal. Erica McSherry replied for LB Rovers. MEK Galaxy won away at Killarney Celtic Gold. Saoirse O’Sullivan, Keeva Riordan, Avril Rooney, Lily Riordan, Nell Crowley and Sarah O’Sullivan were on the mark for MEK.
In the 15’s Premier Ella Sheehy and Sarah O’Connor hit the net for Dingle Bay Rovers as they defeated Camp Juniors in the KDL 2-1. Eabha Lyne got the goal for Camp.
Two goals each from Melanie Higgins and Aoife Horgan and one from Kiera Large saw Listowel Celtic defeat Fenit 5-0. Celtic were only 1-0 ahead at the break thanks to a good team effort led by Lara Flynn and Katie O’Leary.
