Kerry in 12’s Subway Inter League action:
Kerry travelled to Ennis to play Clare in two games. In the Inter League the home side started the better and were 3-0 up at half time. But the Joe O’Reilly / JP Mullins side put in a huge effort in the second half and pulled two goals back thanks to Dara Murphy and Pierce Lowth. Kerry pushed hard for an equaliser and almost got it but Clare broke away and scored an insurance goal on the counter attack.
In the second game goals from Nick Lacey and Oran O’Sullivan put Kerry 2-1 up at half time. The Kerry boys dominated the second half and Lacey added three more and Harry O’Connor made it 6 to see Kerry win by 4.
10’s Cup and Shields Continue:
The action in the 10’s Cup and Shields continued this week with Killarney Celtic narrowly defeating Ballyhar Dynamos in both sections under lights at Celtic Park. On Saturday in the Cup Groups there were wins for Listowel Celtic and Fenit in Group 1, Mastergeeha in Group 2 and Killarney Celtic and Ballyhar Dynamos in Group 3.
In the Shield it was Fenit who won in Group 1, Inter Kenmare in Group 2 and The Park and Tralee Dynamos in Group 3.
Busy week in the 12 Premier
It was a busy weeks in the JK Sports 12 Premier with the action starting on Monday when MEK Galaxy won away at Killorglin. The MEK goals came from Jack Hallissey 3, David McCarthy, Fionn Kennedy, Cillian O’Donoghue and Fergal Murphy. MEK are second in the Division ahead of the split for Phase 2.
On Tuesday night Killarney Athletic also won on the road as they defeated Tralee Dynamos. The Woodlawn side’s goals came from Szymon Jasinski, Evan Doona, Darragh Moynihan, Brian McCarthy and Jake Nash. This was Athletic 7th wins from 7 and they top the Division.
Killarney Celtic and Tralee Dynamos were both level on points after the first phase of the League and a play-off was needed to see who would play in the top 5 and which team would play in the League Shield. Again there was nothing between the sides with Patrick O’Brien scoring in extra time for Celtic as the game ended 1-1 after extra time. Dynamos took the play-off win 5-4 on penalties.
Mastergeeha and Killorglin drew 0-0 in the League section leaving away side top of this competition.
John Murphy 12 Shield gets underway:
In the Preliminary game the Park B won away at Mastergeeha B thanks to 2 goals from Marciej Kubic and one from Mohab Abdalrazek.
In Round 1 LB Rovers won away at Ballyheige who had Mathew O’Sullivan and Xvisier on the mark. For LB JJ O’Rourke hit a hat-trick with Alex O’Carroll getting the other goal. Tralee Dynamos B are also through on a 3-0 score line over Inter Kenmare B.
John Murphy Shield Last 16: There were 5 games in the Last 16 of the Shield. Goals from James O’Meara and Killian Fitzgerald gave MEK Galaxy B a 2-1 win over Killarney Celtic B. Sean Collins got the Celtic goal with all the scores coming in the second half.
2 goals from Jack Daly and Damola Idowu and one each from Sean Og O’Connor, Conor O’Regan and Shane O’Donovan saw the Park C progress against Castleisland B.
Roan Guerin put Mastergeeha C 1-0 up after 10 minutes away to Camp Juniors B. But the home side were level before half time and went on to win 3-1 thanks to goals from Jack Doyle 2 and David O’Donnell.
Padraig Manning put Dingle Bay Rovers 1-0 up at home to Ballyhar Dynamos B. Harry O’Connor levelled for Ballyhar and in extra time O’Connor got a second and Conrad Long wrapped up the Ballyhar win.
Tiernan O’Keeffe 2, Danny Gaza, Cillian O’Brien and Roman Carey-MacGibney were on the score sheet as Fenit B progressed over Killorglin B.
Killorglin B win in 13’s Plate
In the John Joe Naughton 13’s Plate goals in either half from Dylan Counihan and Cian Hayes saw Killorglin B defeat Killarney Athletic C 2-0.
Mastergeeha just three points off top spot in 13’s Division 1
Mastergeeha defeated Camp Juniors in Kilbrean Park to move onto 15 points and just three points behind Dingle Bay Rovers in the World of Tiles 13 Division 1. The home sides goals came from Mathew Kennedy 2, Sean McAulliffe 2 and Ronan McCarthy. For Camp Juniors David Moore, Darragh Murphy and Robert Keane were on the mark.
Listowel win in 14 Premier
Listowel Celtic made home advantage count in the Slattery’s Carpets 14 Premier as 4 goals from Oisin Healy and one each from Evan Boyle and Aaron Carey saw them defeat Tralee Dynamos.
Tom Hayes Shield opener:
In Round 1 of the Tom Hayes Shield Dingle Bay Rovers A were a little too strong for Masrtergeeha B. Goals from Dingle Bay came from Joe Connor, Tadgh Cahill, James Hoare, Sean Roche and Paudie Fitzgerald. Killorglin B are also through defeating LB Rovers 3-0.
A round ahead and in the quarter finals the Park got past Killarney Celtic B to go into the hat for the next round.
Killorglin extend lead in 14’s Division 2
Killorglin C have extended their lead to 7 points at the top of the Slattery’s Carpets 14’s Division 2. Goals from Kuba Cisle 3, Patrick Radny 2, Michael Byrne, Zyginstas Pipras and Rory Breen plus a big display in goal from Harvey Managan saw Killorglin see off Dingle Bay Rovers.
Park joint second in 15 Premier
The Park defeated Litowel Celtic to go joint second in the Daly’s Supervalu 15 Premier level with Iveragh United but the South Kerry side do have games in hand. In their latest win the goals came from Dylan Hobbert, Venis Jahiri, Odhran Ferris, Togor Silong and Callum O’Sullivan.
Dynamos win away in 15 Shield:
In the 15’s Shield Group 2 Tralee Dynamos won away at Killarney Celtic B. The goals came from Paddy McMahon, Dylan Buckley, Stephen Barrett, CJ Daniels and Jamie O’Shea.
Mastergeeha win in Tucker Kelly Cup opener:
The Tucker Kelly Cup got underway with a win for Mastergeeha over Castleisland in Kilbrean Park. The home side had to come from behind as they were 2-1 down at the break but hit four without reply. Mark O’Shea hit 3, Jack Higgins and Dan Kelly got the Mastergeeha goals while Ryan Dennehy and Freddie Galway got the Castleisland goals in the first half.
Killorglin B go through as they defeated Ballyheigue 3-1. Sean Brosnan and Oisin Lynch were on the mark for the winners with Dara Kearney getting the Ballyheigue goal.
Fenit in in 16’s Shield
In the 16’s Shield Fenit got the better of Killorglin in a seven goal thriller. Bobby O’Connor 2, Declan Ryan and David Dinnen scored for Fenit with Darragh Evans, Oisin Lynch and an OG were on the Killorglin score sheet.
No Girls Action: With the hugely successful day of action in Georgie O’Callaghan Park showcasing all that great in the women’s game in Kerry on Saturday there was no girls League games. The Gaynor 13 and 15’s squads did have two great session with top class national coaches which will stand them in great stead for the games over the next few months at Inter County Level.
There were two girls in action in the League with Ella Sheehy and Emily Nic Gearailt starring with th Dingle Bay Rovers 14’s Division 2 side,
