In the Premier Killarney Athletic will be the happiest of the team in action this weekend. They took a great point off leaders Killorglin after a 1 all draw. Tadgh Doolin got the Athletic goal late on in the game after Martin Foley had put Killorglin ahead. Killorglin still top the table on 19 points from 8 played.
Killarney Celtic moved onto 15 points with 2 games in hand after their 5-0 win at home to Listowel Celtic. Ryan Kelliher continued his scoring streak netting a hat trick with the other coming from Mike Lenihan and Peter O’Sullivan.
Mastergeeha closed to within 1 point of the top of the table after they defeated Ballyhar 2-1. Lorcan Keane got both the goals for the home side at Kilbrean Park while Aaron Flynn was on the mark for Ballyhar.
In Division 2 Killorglin B’s hopes of a top two finish suffered a set-back as they went down 2-1 away to Asdee. Pat Carmody and Eric Daly were the scorers for the home side.
Girls 14 Premier:
Killarney Celtic defeated Kingdom Girls 3-0 in Tralee. Siobhan Burns got one and Fay O’Donoghue 2 for the Hoops. Best for Kingdom Girls, who will soon get their rewards for the hard work they are putting in, were Norma O’Connor at Centre Back and also Lucy Murphy and Clogadh McHugh.
Listowel Celtic continued their unbeaten run, this time with a 6-2 win at home to Killarney Athletic. Leah Henry was outstanding with 4 goals added to by Maggie Walsh and Mary Barry. Kate Stack replied with both the Athletic goals.
Cup Reports:
11’s Cup First Round:
Kingdom Boys Jack Tobin scored a hat trick and Brian Cassidy once for Kingdom Boys as they progress to Round 2 in a 4-1 win over Inter Kenmare which sees the Tralee boys progress to the last 16.
John Murphy Memorial 12’s Cup:
Both Killarney Celtic sides are into the hat for the Last 16 draw with the A’s getting a 2-0 win over Listowel Celtic B. The B’s had a very good win on the road as the defeated Kingdom Boys B 2-1.
Goals from Adam Kissane and David Cantillon saw Celtic B through with John Jervis replying for Kingdom Boys from the penalty spot.
13’s Cup:
Killorglin have made it to the Last 8 of the 13’s Cup following their 5-2 win at home to Park B. Mark O’Connor and Cathal Crosby both hit two each with Gary O’Connor also getting on the score sheet.
Tom Hayes Memorial 14’s Cup:
In Preliminary Round 1 Castlemaine snatched the win from the jaws of extra time as Dwight Bascalo’s goal late late goal sees then through to the next round after defeating Listowel Celtic B 1-0. Castlemaine now face Mastergeeha for a place in round 1 proper.
In Round 1 The Park travelled to Killarney Athletic and defeated their hosts by double scores 6-3. Conor Lowe hit 3 for the Park with the others coming from Ciaran Killeen, Dean O’Connell and Ed Moynihan.
Lorcan McMonagle, Reece Hegarty and Liam Curran were Athletics scorers.
Listowel Celtic used home advantage to maximum effect as they were 4-0 winners over Fenit. Dara Goulding hit 2 with Nicholas MacKessey and Marcus Dowling getting one each.
Both Killarney Celtic sides are through with the A’s getting a 2-0 win from Camp while the B’s proved too strong for Asdee thanks to goals from Dillon Fitzgerald, Chris Wynne, Patrick O’Leary, Kuba Milzarek, Dan Horgan and Ryan Brosnan Casey.
Killorglin A were made battle all the way by their club mates Killorgln B. Paddy Cronin, Aaron McCarthy and an og saw the A’s through 3-1 with Mark O’Connor getting the goal for the B’s.
Kingdom Boys A are amongst the favourites for this competition and are through thanks to a 6-0 win over neighbours Park B. Diarmuid O’Connor, Dara Lowth, Rian O’Sullivan, Dillon Robinson, Paudie Looney and Mike McDonnell got the goals.
15’s Cup:
Inter Kenmare had to travel to Tralee as their pitch was unplayable last week but they made it a winning trip thanks to a 6-0 win over Park B. One the score sheet for Inter were Kevin Price, Daniel Taylor, Will Sheehy, Tom O’Sullivan and Denis Cronin.
Tucker Kelly Memorial 16’s Cup:
Camp’s Brandon Boyle got the only goal in their 1-0 win over Ballyhar at Murt Scott Park. Killarney Celtic A are also through as they defeated Kingdom Boys in Tralee. Evan Cronin, Lee O’Callaghan and Cathal O’Shea scored for Celtic with Shane Lowth and Segun Doyile replying for Kingdom Boys.
Killarney Celtic’s B’s have also progressed on the same score-line as they got past Killorglin A at Celtic Park. Conor McCarthy and Dara Sheehan scored for Celtic in the first half with Dan Whittleton getting both for Killorglin.
However it was Killarney Celtic that got the all important winning goal in the second half.
The Park A proved too strong for Castleiasland and are also through thanks to goals from James Duggan, Paddy Collins, Ferdia O’Brien, Paudie Griffin, Jack Carmody and Shane McLoughlin.
