Reports:

Moriarty’s Centra Cup and Shield:

With the long evenings there was lots of action both in mid-week and at the weekend. In the Shield Fenit defeated Park C 2-1 on Tuesday with Eddie McCarthy getting both goals for the winner. Cian O’Shea replied for the Park. There was a better result for the Park B’s the following evening when they were 7-0 winners at home to Ballyhar in Christy Leahy Park. Kian and Sean O’Connor, Samir Asmatullayeva, Mark Sheahan 2 and Conor Kirby 2 got the goals for the The Park.

On Friday The Park B made it two wins from two as they got past Asdee 3-0 to book their place in the semi-finals. On Saturday the other 3 places in the Shield final four were decided with Killarney Celtic C, Killarney Athletic and Listowel Celtic B progressing.

Killarney Celtic C had goals from Sean Guerin, Timmy Moynihan, Sam Buckley and Jack O’Connor as they defeated LB Rovers. The Lisselton / Ballybunion side are a new club and doing great work at under 9’s, 10’s and 11’s and hopefully they will be full members of the League next season.

A Cillian Courtney hat trick and one from Dara Looney saw Killarney Athletic knocking out Castleisland in Woodlawn while in Fenit the home side went out 6-3 to Listowel Celtic B. Nickolai Callaghan, Rory Mahony and two each from Bobby McCarron and Liam Connolly got the goals for Celtic.

Cup Last 4:

The Park A had Colin Doody, Danny Jeffers and Cianan Conney on the score-sheet as they went through to the last 4 of the 11’s Cup with a win over Camp Juniors. Joining them are Mastergeeha for whom Mark O’Shea scored twice in a 2-1 away win at Killorglin B. Also in the last 4 are Iveragh who ensured it was a frustrating day for Killorglin as they defeated the A’s, also 2-1. Ronan Teehan and Cathal O’Shea were the scorers for the South Kerry side. Taking the last place in the semi-finals are Listowel Celtic A who were too strong for Killarney Celtic B. Anthony Kavangh hit 5 with Adam Segal getting 2.

12’s Girls semi-final:

Killarney Celtic girls are the first side through to the 12 Girls Cup final. Goals from Keri Ann Hanrahan, Holly Power, Jess Leahy, Katie Brosnan and Meave Bellew saw Celtic defeat Killarney Athletic. Inter Kenmare and Listowel Celtic will meet in the other semi-final. The winners will join Celtic in the Cup final while the defeated side will take on Killarney Athletic in the Shield decider.

3 place in the 13’s Cup semi-finals sorted:

The Park A were the first side to go through to the last 4 as they defeated Dingle Bay Rovers. Melvin Shalemba and Sean McGrath were the scorers for the Park.

Killorglin A made the trip to Inter Kenmare a winning one as they defeated the home side 6-2 to book their place in the semi-finals. Gar Hassett hit 4 with Jack O’Leary and Darragh McKeffery also scoring while Colin Courtney got both goals for Inter.

Killarney Celtic A and Tralee Dynamos A shared 7 goals in Celtic Park with the visitors taking the spoils 4-3. Two goals from Sean Kennedy and one each from Leo Gaxha and Zoran Samardzic saw Dynamos progress to the last 4. James Darmody, Ruairi Doyle and Cian Dineen were the Celtic scorers.

2 through in 15’s Cup:

Camp Juniors are already waiting in the semi-finals of the 15’s Cup as they were the lucky side that secured the Bye from the qualifiers. Castleisland joined them thanks to a 4-0 away win in Killorglin. Shay Walsh 2, Josh Horan and Ben Cooney were the Castleisland scorers.

One spot left up for grabs in 15’s Shield:

Mastergeeha and Killarney Athletic got Bye’s to the semi-finals of the 15’s Shield and they are now joined by Park B. David Oba, Conor O’Brien (penalty), Shane Jordan, Aaron Ward and Jamal Ismail scored for the Park with Jared Barton replying for Celtic C.

Tucker Kelly Shield ¼ Final:

Castlemaine were the first side through to the Shield ¼ finals. The Park A are the second side into the last 4 as they defeated Park A 3-0. Dylan O’Sullivan, Joseph Benjamin and Simon Kardesi were the scorers for the Tralee side.

Only a few League games played:

With most eyes on the Cups there were a couple of League games played. Listowel Celtic moved within a point of 3rd place when they defeated Camp Juniors 1-0 in the JK Sports 12 Premier.

In 12’s Division 2 a Dan Fischer goal was the only score in a game that saw The Park defeating Camp Juniors B 1-0.

There was also only one goal in the Killarney Plaza 15 Division 1 clash of Killarney Celtic B and Castleisland. Josh Horan got the all-important goal for Castleisland which sees them go top of the table on their own.

Goals were certainly not in short supply in the Tralee Trophy World 16 Premier clash of Killorglin and Tralee Dynamos. The game was played under lights in the Dragons Den and the home side went 3-0 up thanks to goals from Gary Mathews, Kane Bradley and Jonathan Kissane. However this was a case of a game of two halves and Dynamos took the points thanks to goals from Rian O’Sullivan and Odhran Liston who both scored two each.
