Moriarty’s Centra 11’s:

The first weekend of games saw action in the 3 Moriarty’s Centra 11’s Groups. Killarney Celtic and Listowel Celtic enjoyed wins over Park and Kingdom Boys respectively.

Killarney Celtic B also just got the better of the Park B and Camp also had the tightest margin of victory over Listowel Celtic B in Group 2. In this Group Mastergeeha defeated Killorglin B.

There was only one game in Group 3 where The Park C defeated Killaney Celtic in a high scoring thriller.

Daly’s Supervalu 13’s Premier:

Listowel Celtic, Killarney Celtic A and Killorglin A are the early leaders in the Daly’s Supervalu 13 Premier. Killorglin A came into the season in great form having won the Gleneagle Cup and continued that form with an opening day League win over Kingdom Boys in Killorglin.

Garroid Hassett is of the League’s most deadly marksmen and he hit a hat trick in this game. His three were added to by 2 from Eoin Clifford and one each from Jack O’Connor, David Mangan and Dylan O’Neill. Brian O’Dowd and Nemanja Samardzic replied for Kingdom Boys.

Ryan Kelliher is another who scores for fun and he got three for Killarney Celtic as they defeated Mastergeeha at Celtic Park. Speed merchant Peter O’Sullivan chipped in with 2 while Liam Spillane, Chaolin Ryan and Jared Barton all scored one each.

It was much tighter between Listowel Celtic A and Park A in Tralee. Leo Shambala scored 2 and Padraig McCannon once but it wasn’t enough for the home side as another hat trick from Devon McKenna plus one from Stephen McCarthy saw them take the points.

13 Division 1:

Inter Kenmare are certainly one of the early favourites in this Division and were too strong for Killarney Celtic B . Mark Looney scored twice while Tom Murnane, Dion Murphy, Daniel Crowley, Boki Nicki, Kane Reidy and Aidan Crowley all got on the score-sheet  for Inter.

St Bernard’s also enjoying an opening day win thanks to two Adam Burke goals and one from Mikey Clifford.

13 Division 2:

Camp are top of the 13’s Division 2 after their  7-3 win over Killorglin B. Jack Farrell and Killian Falvey both got two each while Sean Og Moran, D O’Hara and Colm Moriarty got a goal each.

They are joined by Listowel Celtic C who had the honour of recording the first win of the new season as they beat Asdee in the Friday night opener. Shane Mcgrath got 3 and Robert Foley the fourth in their win.

Killarney Plaza 15’s Premier:

Mark Harnett was one of the day’s top scorers as he hit 4 of Killarney Celtic’s 8. Fintan Campion, Oran O’Donoghue and Cian Gammell were the other scorers. Niall McCarthy and 2 from Patrick Warren were the Mastergeeha goal getters.

Division 1:

The day’s only draw came in this Division when the Killarney derby ended 2 apiece. Reece Hegarty put Athletic ahead but 2 from Lee Dowling, one from the spot, saw Celtic take the lead. Athletic sprang Jack Kelliher from the bench and he got the equaliser with almost his first touch.

Killorglin has hat tricks from Conor Standen, John Kissane and Gary Mathews as they defeated Listowel Celtic B for whom Micheal Kirby scored twice.

Ballyhar made the trip to Kenmare and took the points from Inter thanks to goals from Niall O’Donoghue, Aaron McCarthy, Cian O’Callaghan, Liam Brosnan and Diarmiud O’Mahoney.

Division 2

Castlemaine and Camp  took three points without kicking a ball. The Park B had a comfortable win over strugglers Asdee. Conor Lowth was the other player who hit 4 and Kieran ‘Kiwi’ Killeen, Rory Kelly and Stephen Benjamin all got goals.
