First of the younger ages Blitz’s a big success:
With the League running an ETP for our future stars at u10’s and u11’s starting next month a number of blitz’s at both ages have been organised from where the ETP players will be selected.
The first of these took place on Sunday on the Dragon’s Den All Weather with 17 clubs being represented by multiple teams. This weekend it will be the turn of the u10’s.
Killorglin win away in 12 Premier
Three was only one game in the Even ages on this weekend with Killorglin winning away at Listowel Celtic in the JK Sports 12 Premier. Brian Mangan, Giovanni McCarthy and Colm Evans got the Killorglin goals.
Killarney Celtic close the gap in 13 Premier
With the leaders Killarney Athletic not playing and a depleted second placed LB Rovers well beaten by Tralee Dynamos it was Killarney Celtic that will be the happiest. They took the three points from their trip to Christy Leahy Park winning 2-1. Oisin Fleming and Sean Maher were the Celtic scorers with Ryan O’Driscoll having put the Park ahead from the penalty spot.
Tralee Dynamos enjoyed their day in front of goals with Adam Evans, Nick Lacey, Shayne Stack, Mathew Rogers and Pierce Lowth all on the mark in their win over LB Rovers.
A Michael Tangney goal was the only one in the game and it saw Inter Kenmare defeating Listowel Celtic 1-0.
Iveragh United win big game in 13’s Division 1:
With leaders Dingle Bay Rovers who are 15 points not playing there was a big game where Mastergeeha who had one both their game took on Iveragh United who started the day in second place on 9 points.
And in the end it was the Caherciveen side that took the win and move onto 12 points thanks to a 4-3 win. Daithi Sugrue got 2 and Cillian O’Sullivan the other goal for Iveragh United to leave the game tied at 3-3 entering the final stages. However it was Iveragh’s Alex Kelly who had the final say as he cracked home the winner from distance late on. Mathew Kennedy 2 and Sean McAuliffe were the Mastergeeha scorers.
The other game saw Tralee Dynamos defeating neighbours The Park 5-2 with Oliver Lata and Jack Daly getting their goals.
LB go top of the 13 Division 2 North:
There was a cracking game, including 9 goals shared between the sides, as LB Rovers welcomed The Park C who were top of the table on 12 points from their 4 games played. However Rovers were only 2 points behind but with a game more played they needed to win.
Archie Walsh put LB ahead before Sean Martin replied for the Park. Sam Enright scored twice for LB Rovers and Shay Murphy got another but Michael Quirke and Alan O’Neill pulled two back for The Park to leave the score at 4-3 to the North Kerry side at half time.
Charlie Ryan then put LB two ahead but the Park boys fought back again with Ethan Ballard making it 4-3. But try as the might the Park were unable to breach the determined LB Rovers again and they took the win 5-4.
In the other game in that Division Fenit will be happy to have three points on the board thanks to goals from Paddy Hannon 2 and Michael O’Sullivan in a 3-1 win over Listowel Celtic.
Top two win in 13 Division 2 South:
Leaders MEK Galaxy had to put in a big second half to see off the challenge of Killorglin B who were only 2-0 down at the break. But with Jamie Vousden hitting 2 in both half the League leaders pulled away to win 7-1. The other MEK Galaxy goals came from Noah O’Shea, Liam Casey and Sam Clarke while Callum Russell was on the mark for Killorglin B.
Inter Kenmare who are in second place also needed a big second period as they were being held 2-2 at the break at their game away to Ballyhar Dynamos. Jack Wiggins and Alex Sheehan both hit 2 with John O’Sullivan and Darragh O’Sullivan getting the goal for Inter. Eugene Daniel did all he could to get Ballyhar Dynamos something from the game by hitting a hat-trick.
Both Killarney Athletic B and Mastergeeha had to be happy with a share of the points after the sides drew 2-2 in Woodlawn. Joshua Switzer and Mieske scored for the Woodlawn side with Ronan O’Connor and Jack Buckley getting the goals for the Kilbrean side.
Killarney Celtic and Park win in 15 Premier
Leaders Killarney Celtic have made it 5 wins from 5 in the Killarney Plaza 15 Premier thanks to a 5-2 win away at Inter Kenmare. The Celtic goals came from Adrian Casey, Edmund Myers, Kelvin O’Sullivan, Josh Bowler and Luke O’Neill. Darragh O’Sullivan and Zack O’Shea replied for Inter.
The Park were 3-1 winners at home to Killorglin who goal came from Tony Og Duffy.
Dynamos extend lead in 15 Division 1
Tralee Dynamos extended their lead over second placed Dingle Bay Rovers, who were short a few starters. Dynamos are having an impressive season in this division and their goals in this game came from Jamie O’Shea, Alex Hoare, Adrian Horgan, Dylan Buckley, Rory Clifford and Elvis Ankomah.
Fenit scored one in each half, from Cian O’Gara and Billy Walsh, in their 2-1 win at home to Rattoo Rover. Fenit needed their keeper David Chute to be in great form to secure the win.
LB win and extend lead in 15 Division 2:
In the one game played in the 15’s Division 2 leaders LB Rovers took the win 4-3 having led 3-1 at half time. Thavien Buckley hit a hat trick in the first half with Mikey Dunworth getting the vital goal in the second half.
Kickerz kick on in 13 Premier
In the Girls 13 Premier MEK Kickerz had a good win at home to Division leaders MEK Kickerz. The MEK goals came from Naoishe O’Donoghue 3 and Sarah Fitzgerald 2.
6 Up for Castleisland
Two of the top three sides won in the Girls 13’s Division 1. The League leaders Castleisland are now on 6 wins from 6 after they won away at the Park. Aoife Begley hit two for the Park in the first half with Erin O’Connor replying for Castleisland. However O’Connor hit three more in the second half and Edel O’Donoghue hit a 5th in their 5-2 win.
Killarney Celtic Green are also unbeaten in their 5 games and were a little too experienced for Ballyheigue who had Clogadh Carroll on the mark and who tried hard all game. For Celtic Hannah Casey and Jessica Leggate hit 3 each with Emma Daly getting 2 in the win.
LB Rovers lost their first game on the season going down to Dingle Bay Rovers thanks to goals from Hannah Nic Gearailt, Ciara Kennedy and Sibeal Nic Sheaghda. Roisin Fogarty got the LB goal.
MEK Starz took the win at home to Fenit with Saoirse O’Sullivan, Avril Rooney, Lily O’Riordan, Holly Barrett, Keeva Riordan and Sarah O’Sullivan all getting one each.
Listowel Celtic Girls open year’s action:
The first game of 2020 in the VITHIT Kerry Schoolboys Girls League was the Friday afternoon 15 Girls game which saw Listowel Celtic defeat Castleisland 3-0. Ciara Henderson hit a hat-trick for Listowel Celtic which sees them move onto 3 wins from 3 and into second place on 9 points. Killarney Celtic lead the way on 4 wins from 4.
Girl’s Roll of Honour:
In a busy weekend on the girls side the following girls made the Roll of Honour: Mary Kearney and Kelly En right Listowel Celtic, Shannon Drury and Ciara O’Connor Ballyheigue, Hannah Casey and Cora O’Donovan Killarney Celtic, Ciara Kennedy and Robin Quinlan Dingle Bay Rovers, Sinead O’Sullivan and Naoishe O’Donoghue MEK Galaxy, Leah Griffin and Priya O’Donovan Park and Laura McShane and Erin O’Connor from Castleisland.
