MEK to play Listowel Celtic in 13’s playoff final:
The battle for the runners up spot in the Girls 13’s Premier, delayed due to the shut-down, will be between MEK Galaxy and Listowel Celtic.
MEK booked their place after a 2-0 away win at Killarney Celtic with Orla Barrett and Sarah Fitzgerald getting the goals for the Mid and East Kerry side who also had big performances from Kate Clifford and Maria Griffin. For Killarney Celtic Aine O’Sullivan, Abbie Finnan and Emma O’Brien were the best on the night.
Win on the road for Camp Juniors in 12 Premier:
On Sunday morning Camp Juniors Green made the trip to Listowel Celtic a winning one. A hat trick from Tadgh O’Donoghue and one each from man of the match Jack Doyle, Fionan Barry, Killian Crean and Tom Griffin gave the visitors the win after leading 3-0 at the break.
All Park clash in 12’s Division 2 North
In the 12’s Division One it was an all St Brendan’s Park clash with the Park Black going down to Park Gold 6-1. For the winners Shane Griffin, Noah Reidy, Patrick Leen, Fionn Hannon and David Aherne were all on the score sheet while Elain Tomczak Kqiku got the goal for the Park Black.
Goal-feat in Murt Scott Park in 12 Division 2 South:
The JK Sports 12 Premier clash at Murt Scott Park was certainly an entertaining one with the home side Ballyhar Dynamos defeating MEK Galaxy 10-5.
For the home side Donnach Lynch and Conor Edwards both hit hat tricks with David Downes getting 2 and one each for Issac Vickers and Daniel Cronin. Replying for MEK were Leo Allan who had a big day hitting 4 goals with Conor Hughes getting the other goal.
Home wins in the 13’s Premier:
There were home wins in the three games in the World of Tiles 13 Premier. In the Tralee derby Tralee Dynamos were 5-3 winners at home to the Park. Dynamos ChristyBoy Burke had a good day hitting 4 of his sides 5 with Alex Touhy getting the 5th. Brian Heaphy with 2 and Michael Quirke were the Park’s scorers.
Killarney Athletic were a little too strong for Killorglin in Woodlawn with the goals for the winners coming from Szymon Jasinski 3, Gracjan Pawlak 2, Bryan O’Connor, Liam O’Brien and Mark O’Connell.
MEK Galaxy hit two in each half without reply in their 4-0 home win over Listowel Celtic. Kevin Coffey 2, Jack Hallissey and an OG gave MEK the win who had a stand-out performance from Orla Barrett on her first game with the boys having scored for the girls in mid-week.
Busy week in the 13’s Division 1:
Castleialand had a very strong first half as the defeated Ballyheigue. Jack Foley 3, Harry Crowley 2 and Josh Ryan were the Castleisland goal scorers with Mathew O’Sullivan replying for the North Kerry boys.
Fenit and Killarney Celtic were tied 1-1 at the break but it was the visitors who took home the points with a narrow 5-4 win. For Celtic Pa O’Brien hit 3 and Cillian Slattery 2 in Celtic’s win. Mikey Corridan also hit a hat trick with Michael O’Sullivan getting one as they just came up short.
The Mastergeeha versus Inter Kenmare game at Kilbrean Park became a shoot- out between Thomas Myers and the visitors. Michael O’Mahony put Inter ahead but Myers scored twice to see Mastergeeha go 2-1 up before Michael Jones equalised before the break.
Myers completed his hat trick early in the second half but Dylan Treyvaud equalised. Myers then hit is fourth but the visitors were determined not to leave empty handed and Michael Mahony equalised to see the sides tied 4-4 and get a point each.
Park B made the trip to Dingle Bay Rovers a winning one thanks to a 4-1 win. Tamin Rahman got the Dingle goal but Tuogo King Chaninomi, Jack Daly, Edison Jahiri from the penalty spot and Danny Kingston all scored to give the Park the points.
Opening three game of 13’s Division 2 done and dusted:
The 13’s Division 2 campaign got underway for 6 sides at the weekend. All the goals in the Inter Kenmare B versus Mastergeeha B came in the second half with the visitors taking the win. For Mastergeeha Ruairi O’Donoghue, Evan Counihan, Liam Skaill and Eoin O’Sullivan scored while Roan O’Sullivan and Alasdair Dawes replied for Inter.
Goals from Fergal Enright 2, Sean O’Connor, Noah Curtin and Michael Lenihan were all on the mark for Castleisland B in their 5-2 home win over Tralee Dynamos. The home side led 3-1 at the break. For Tralee Dynamos Eanna Ryan and Daniel McCarthy scored in each half.
LB Rovers took the points home from Christy Leahy Park as they saw off the Park B thanks to goals from JJ O’Rourke, Oran O’Donoghue, Cody Goggin, Roisin Fogarty and Alex O’Connell. Mike O’Brien had put the Park B 1-0 up after 18 minutes.
One game in the 14’s Division 1 North and South
There was one game played in both the Slattery’s Carpets 14’s Division 1 North and South this week. In Division 1 North the Park took the points 3-0 from Listowel Celtic. In Division 1 South Ballyhar Dynamos were 3-2 winners at home to MEK Galaxy. Ballyhar were 1-0 thanks to Eugene Daniel at half time and doubled their lead through Henry Walsh. MEK were unlucky has they had hit the bar three times but pulled one back thanks to Jamie Vousden. Ryan Carey then made it 2-2 but a late corner from Ballyhar Dynamos went into the net of a bunch of players to give them all three points.
Opening games of the 15’s Premier:
In the Moriarty’s Centra 15 Premier Killarney Celtic won 2-0 at Georgie O’Callaghan Park defeating Castleisland thanks to goals from Josh Bowler and Ted O’Gorman.
In the other game St Brendan’s Park drew 1-1 with Killorglin with both goals coming in the first half. Finn O’Neill scored for the Park with Mathew O’Loughlin replying for Killorglin.
Draw also the outcome in 15’s Division 1
The points were also shared in the 15’s Division 1 in the game between Inter Kenmare and Mastergeeha. Cathal Kelligher got the goal for Inter with Bobby Galvin replying for the Kilbrean side.
Killarney Athletic picked up the three points in their Sunday game at home to Killorglin C. Rohan Saha got 2, Luke Doolan and Niall Carroll one each in the win. Patryk Radney and Kuba Ciesla got the goals for Killorglin C.
Dingle Bay winners in Division 2
Dingle Bay Rovers won at home to Park B in the 15’s Division 2. Paudie Fitzgerald and James Hoare both hit two each for the West Kerry side with Mark Kennedy getting the other goal while for the Park Jack Barrett, Arek Turkicwicz and Jakub Mikolajczuk got the goals.
Inter Kenmare win at home in 16 Division 1
Two goals in the first and three in the second saw Inter Kenmare take the three points in their home game on Sunday against Killorglin B. Darragh O’Connor got 3 with Eoin McCarthy and Jimmy Kelliher getting one each. For Killorglin Zach Campion had a very good game in goal.
Gaynor Group games conclude this weekend:
With the Gaynor Cup, like all summer tournaments falling to COVID the tournament will be finished off with the various finals in Athlone next month. To qualify Kerry will need to come through a semi-final of which ever section they qualify for and the line-up for the Cup, Bowl, Plate, Shield and Trophy will be known after this weekend’s games.
Kerry 13’s and 15’s Girls face a tough last game as the both face Cork in Lakewood. The u15’s are on Saturday afternoon at 4.30pm while the 13’s play the day after also at 4.30pm.
