11’s Cup Round 1:
In the first round of the 11’s Cup the 14 sides in action were bidding to join the 9 that had Bye’s into Round 2. Behy Rovers booked their place with a 3-1 over Killarney Athletic B. Darren O’Shea 2 and Sean Sheehan scored for the winners with Eoin O’Donnell replying for Athletic B.
Ballyhar’s Dylan O’Callaghan had a day to remember, hitting 4 in a 5-2 win over Killorglin B while Kingdom Boys were 6-0 winners at home to St Bernard’s.
Killarney Celtic had a good day with both their A and C team going through. The A’s were too strong for Iveragh United thanks to goals from Ryan Kelliher 3, Mike Lenihan 2 and one each from Darragh Lyne and Peter O’Sullivan. Celtic C had a good 4-0 win away to Fenit thanks to goals from John O’Leary 2, Gavin Brady and Emmet O’Shea.
Asdee won the North Kerry derby with a 7-1 win over Listowel Celtic B. Philip Byrne 3, Se Doran, Liam Mulvihill, Ben O’Connor and Mark Hennessy.
The tightest game of the day was between Killorglin A and Park A. The game finished 2-2 after extra time with the Tralee side winning 6-4 on penalties.
The winners join Listowel Celtic A, Killarney Athletic A, Killarney Celtic B, Park B & Park C, Camp A & B, Inter Kenmare and Mastergeeha in the next round.
13’s Cup Round 1/2:
Two games were played in Round 1 with Camp defeating Castlemaine 2-1 and Castleisland overcoming Killarney Athletic B 3-0.
Camp go on to meet Iveragh United and Castleisland will meet Mastergeeha in Round 2.
Already through from Round 2 are Killarney Celtic A who beat The Park B 6-1. Luke O’Donoghue got a hat trick with Patrick Warren, Chris O’Donoghue and Evan Cosgrave getting the others. Killarney Athletic A were 3-0 winners over Park A. Michael Potts scored a Rooney like overhead kick, Ciaran Kennedy hit a cracker from the half way line and Blake Bolster got the third. Kingdom Boys join the other in Round 3 following their 2-0 win over Fenit. Odhran Liston and Dillon Robinson were their scorers. Ballyhar hit 6 against Killarney Celtic B with Dan O’Sullivan and Sean Cooper scoring two each and Jake Flynn and David Kenney getting one each.
15’s Cup:
The Preliminary Round game was a goal fest with Park B and Camp hitting 12 goals between them and it was the Tralee side that progress winning 7-5. In a quirk of the draw The Park B now meet Park A in the next round.
In the first round games played Killarney Celtic B beat Killorglin B 2-1. Aaron McCarthy scored for Killorglin but goals from Eamon Lavin and David Flynn saw Celtic B through. Mastergeeha had goals from Eoin McSweeney, DJ Murphy, Kevin Leader and Paudie O’Connor in their 4-1 win over Ballyhar, for whom John McMahon scored.
Killarney Celtic A are through as are Castlemaine who were 1-0 winners over Castlemaine. Killian Corbett scored from the penalty spot after Eoin O’Brien was fouled. A Cian McGarry hat trick and a goal from David Egan saw Fenit defeat Kingdom Boys A 4-1.
Killarney Athletic B were the days big winners overcoming Listowel Celtic B 6-0. Adam O’Shea and Dylan O’Sullivan both scored two each with Aidan Kelly and Conor O’Donoghue hitting one each.
League:
In Group 2 of the 11’s there were win for Mastergeeha and Inter Kenmare over both Camp sides.
In the Daly’s Supervalu 13’s Premier Killorglin are closing in on top spot following their 5th win in a row and are now only 4 points behind leaders Castleisland with 3 games in hand. Here they proved too strong for Asdee and had Padraig Cronin, Jonathan Kissane, Luke Heffernan, Aaron McCarthy, Daniel Cronin, Conor Standen, Cian O’Shea, Darragh O’Sullivan and Dylan O’Sullivan all on the score sheet.
Listowel Celtic’s 2-1 win over Park A means that there are now three teams tied on 12 points with these two joining Killarney Athletic at the top of the table. Douggie Fitzell scored for the Park A but two from Darragh Sheehy gave Listowel Celtic all three points.
Girls League:
The opening day of the Girls League saw wins for Killarney Celtic and Listowel Celtic in the 13’s League. Killarney Celtic had goals from Emma Dineen, Mollie Kelly, Ellen Clifford and Sinead Warren in their 5-3 win over Killarney Athletic. Sharron Sheehy got 3 and there was one each from Saoirse O’Carroll, Saoirse Kennedy and Margret Walsh as Listowel Celtic got the better of Kingdom Boys.
The 17’s League saw wins for Listowel Celtic and Inter Kenmare. Lauren Flavin got 2 in a player of the game performance with Savannah McCarthy getting the other goal as they defeated Killarney Celtic 3-1. Carmel Kate Kelliher scored for Killarney Celtic.
It was a historic day in the Girls league as two clubs came together to put a team into the 17’s League. Camp and The Park took on Inter Kenmare with the away side spoiling the combinations debut. Linda Twomey, Ellie Gudgeon and Noelle Browne got the goals for Inter.
