Under 12 JK Sports Premier:
With leaders Killarney Celtic not in action Kingdom Boys and Killarney Athletic met in a very important game in Tralee and it was the home side that took the points 3-1. Ferdia O’Brien, Stefan and Sam Tarrant were on the mark for Kingdom Boys who now move to 9 points – only one Celtic and level with Athletic in second place.
In the other game in this Division Listowel Celtic and Fenit drew 1-1. Niall Collins was on the mark for Listowel in a game that both sides really needed all three points.
Under 12 Div 1:
Camp travelled to Kenmare and came away with a very good 2-1 win over third placed Inter. Indeed with joint leaders The Park and Killorglin not playing Inter will see this as a missed opportunity to make it a three way tie at the top of the table.
Denis Cronin scored for the home side but goals from Nathan Quirke and Jack Cox made sure Camp recorded the perfect start to 2011.
Asdee also got the New Year off on a winning note defeating Clanmaurice 4-3 at home. Cormac Linnane 2, Liam Culhane and Cillian Courtney were the Asdee goal-getters. Glen McCarthy and two from Brendan Angland were just not enough for Clanmaurice to snatch a point.
Under 12 Div 2:
It’s now an amazing eight wins from eight in the League for Iveragh United in this Division. However this week they were made fight all the way by Killorglin B who just failed to take a point of the leaders on a 5-4 score-line.
Niall Brennan 2, Dan Murphy 2 and Dan Casey got the goals for Iveragh while Dylan O’Sullivan, Craig Counihan and Jonathan Kissane 2 were on the mark for Killorglin who also have goalkeeper John Francis O’Grady to thank for keeping the score-line so tight.
Killarney Celtic C closed the gap on club-mates Celtic B to a point with a 5-1 win away to Kingdom Boys. Kian Gammell, Mark Harnett, Luke O’Donoghue, Fintan Campion and Andrew Drew scored for Celtic.
Daly’s Supervalu U13 Div 1:
In a game played mid-week Killorglin and Castleisland drew 2-2. Daniel Whittington got both for Killorglin with Alan Browne and Aaron Gallagher scoring for Castleisland.
O’Callaghan’s Coaches Under 14 Premier:
This is a very tight Division and it is now topped by The Park following their 4-1 win over Dingle Bay. Sean Ryan, Cian Sheridan and two from Jessie O’Sullivan moved The Park onto 12 points. Dingle Bay and Killarney Celtic are on 10 with Fenit also well in contention on 9 points.
Div 1 North:
Castlemaine opened up a six point gap at the top of the table with a 4-2 win at home to Asdee. Cathal O’Connor hit 2, Gavin Horan and Owen O’Mahoney one each in this win over second placed Asdee.
Third placed Kingdom Boys slipped up a little, only picking up a point in a 1-1 draw with Listowel Celtic. Shane Lowth scored for Kingdom Boys with Dereece Barry get the goal for Listowel Celtic.
Camp were 4-1 winners over Clanmaurice thanks to goals from Brandon Hoare, Hughie O’Brien, Stephen O’Sullivan and David Flannery.
Div 1 South:
The two sides in joint second met each other in Kenmare where both sides were hoping to close the gap to leaders Iveragh. In the end it was the visitors Mastergeeha who defeated the home side 4-3. Connie Buckley and 2 from Darren O’Connor scored for Mastergeeha and Josh Holland, Killian Spillane and an o.g saw the sides level at 3 apiece. It was super sub Dan McCarthy who came off the bench to score the winner for the Kilbrean boys. The win leaves them only one point behind Iveragh.
Killorglin were the other big winners as they proved too for Park B. Daniel McBeth, Aidan Cox, Tommy Cahill, Daniel Aherne and Charlie Purcell all hit the net for Killorglin.
Dante’s Under 16 Div 1:
Camp moved level at the top of the table with a good win over Ballyhar. Jonathan Deane topped scored with Kevin Dowling, Andrew Finn, Patrick Roche and Dan Finnegan all on the score sheet. Sean Lillis got the Ballyhar consolation.
Listowel Celtic added a much needed three points to their tally with a 7-2 win over Castlemaine. Michael Woods and Ian Murphy both hit hat-tricks with Kevin Bowler getting the other goal.
In the Under 12 Girls League leaders Listowel Celtic made it three wins from three with this win over Kingdom Girls. Leah Henry top scored with Aidan Spillane, Jackie Horgan and Aoife Behan also on the mark.
