Unfortunately Kingdom Boys 14’s went out of the National Cup following a great effort away to Shelboure. One player caught the eye of the Herald’s soccer reporter.
The Herald wrote; “They have a majestic midfielder in Rian O’Sullivan. He’s the captain. His vision was top of the class. He never stopped working for the 70 minutes. He bites into the tackle. One lung-busting run down the right touchline in the second half recalled a young Roy Keane. Rian was able to make the extra yard amid the busy traffic, and his weight of passing, even on the all weather surface, was commendable. Rian received the Striker man of the match wrist-band for his noble efforts”.
Also part of the same article in yesterday’s Evening Herald centre pages; “The Tralee team travelled up to Dublin on Friday night. They carried that professionalism with them into the chilly sunshine”.
