Match Reports:
There was one game played mid week in the Daly’s Supervalu U13 Div 1. Inter Kenmare picked up their first point of the season in a good 2-2 draw at home to Castleisland.
Fintan Davis and Dara Siochru scored for the home side with Alan Brown and Ethan O’Connor on the mark for Castleisland who also missed a penalty.
Under 12 JK Sports Premier:
Mastergeeha got the better of previously undefeated, and Division leaders, Killarney Athletic with a 3-2 victory in Kilbrean Park. John O’Leary and Dean Fitzgerald put Mastergeeha ahead twice but Billy Courtney and Brendan Coppinger equalised for Atheltic.
However once Kieran O’Connor put the Kilbrean boys ahead for the third time there was no way back for Killarney Athletic and Mastergeeha took all three points.
Div 1:
Inter Kenmare made the long trip to take on Clanmaurice and came away with a 4-2 victory. Darragh Sweeney had a good day in front of goal hitting a hat-trick with Tom O’Sullivan netting the other goal.
Div 2:
Iveragh United are proving to be the team to catch and continued their excellent start to the season with a 3-2 away win against Mastergeeha. Iveragh are unbeaten in their five league games and on this occasion had goals from Niall Shea (2) and Darren Casey. James Nagle scored both for Mastergeeha. Iveragh can also thank goal keeper Michael Daly for keeping their unbeaten run going with an excellent penalty save.
Killarney Celtic are in the enviable position of having enough players for a C team and they picked up their first win with a 4-2 win over Park B.
Kian Gammell got 2, Luke O’Donoghue 1 and the free scoring Lee Downing the other. Downing has now scored in the four games he has played for various teams this season.
Danny Brosnan scored both goals for The Park.
Killorglin B and Killarney Celtic B played out a 2-2 draw. Celtic will be a little disappointed as it means they gap to League leaders Iveragh has widened.
Conor Flynn and Daragh Moriarty scored for Killorglin with Patrick Wrenn and Kasper Malinosky replying for Celtic.
O’Callaghan’s Coaches Under 14 Premier:
Dingle Bay Rovers proved too strong for Ballyhar winning 4-0 with goals from Mathew Flaherty (2), Cathal Bambury and Gearoid Fitzgerald.
Div 1 North: Castlemaine’s unbeaten League run was halted by an excellent Asdee side who ran out 3-0 winners. Ryan Henry (2) and Sean Keane were the Asdee scores who now join Kingdom Boys in second place, only three points behind League leaders Castlemaine.
Div 1 South:
Inter Kenmare and Iveragh United shared the points in a 2-2 draw. Rauiri Mensink and Stephen O’Sullivan scored for the home side with Pat Clifford and Jack Daly netting for Iveragh.
Dante’s Tralee Under 16 Div 1:
St Bernards and Castlemaine were both hoping to close on leaders Ballyhar, whose game was off.
It was the home side who took the points to move level at the top of the table with a 7-3 win. Micheal O’Shea 2 and Jack McCarthy were the Castlemaine scorers.
However Brendan O’Leary proved unstoppable for the winners hitting 4, Daniel Collins scored 2 with the other coming from Stephen Egan.
Girls League:
Under 12 Girls: Killarney Athletic and Killarney Celtic played out a hugely exciting opening game of the Under 12 League, sharing 10 goals.
Ellen Clifford and Rebecca Murphy both scored two each with Molly Kelly getting the other for Celtic.
Under 14 Girls: Camp 5-2 Castleisland: Camp opened their League campaign with a very good 5-2 victory over Castleisland. This Camp side has shown continued improvement last season and looks to have carried that form into the new campaign.
Amy Finn. Michella Horan, Katie Ferriter, Niamh Kennedy and Nell O’Connor who came off the bench all scored for Camp who also had their keeper Hannah McCarthy in excellent form.
Under 16 Girls: There were wins for the big two with Killarney Celtic winning away to Camp 8-1. Carmel Kate Kelliher scored 3, Laura Kennelly 2, Grainne Devane and Olivia Dawson one each for Celtic.
Listowel Celtic were too strong for The Park winning thanks to goals from Lauren Flavin, Savanah McCarthy, Rebecca Horgan, Emma Thornton and Laura Foley.
