Killarney Celtic are joint top of the Premier table after making it two wins from two games, this time defeating The Park by the odd goal in five. Peter McCarthy, Dara Lyne and Ryan Kelliher got the Celtic goals while Alfie Christie and Leon Shambala were on the mark for the home side.
Killorglin also have maximum points from their two games and on this occasion were too strong for Kingdom Boys who goal came from David Rogers. Gearoid Hassett hit three and Dara Purcell, Jack O’Leary, Jack O’Connor and Dylan O’Neill all added one each in Killorglin’s win.
12’’s Division 1 was the Division of shocks this weekend with Kingdom Boys dropping their first points following two wins. Listowel Celtic prevent them from making it three from three thanks to goals from Sean Murnane and Padraig Walsh.
Killarney Celtic B who went into their game also unbeaten and joint top with K Boys were held to a 4-4 draw with Mastergeeha who were making their League debut. There was a hat trick on each side with David Cantillon hitting three for the home side and Paul O’Shea replying with three for the boys from Kilbrean Park. Evan Lyne was Celtic’s other scorer while David O’Suillivan did likewise for Mastergeeha.
Ballyhar will also be delighted to get three points on the board after two defeats. They were 6-2 winners over Park B. Aaron Flynn top scored on home soil in Murt Scott Park with Dylan O’Callaghan 2 and 1 from Jack Duggan being the other scorers. Fergal O’Brien and Mark Dziedzuich got the Park’s goals.
In the 12’s Division 2 St Bernards continue to lead the way with nine points from nine as two Keith O’Connor goals gave them all three points in their clash with Killorglin B.
Camp are in joint second place after their win over Fenit. Jack Farrell got four, Tony Hoare 3 Colm Moriarty and Cillian Falvey one each as Camp made light of their trip to Fenit. Cian Donnellan did his best to keep his side in the game netting two penalties.
Asdee join Camp on six points following their 2-0 win at home to Behy Rovers.
O’Callaghan Coaches 14’s:
Kingdom Boys struck the early season blow to Killarney Celtic’s League hopes with a 3-2 home win. Rian O’Sullivan got all three for Kingdom Boys including one being from the penalty spot after a disputed call. Mark Harnett returned to the score sheets following a time with injuries and Cian Gammell added the second but to no avail as the points stayed in Tralee.
Mastergeeha join K Boys on six points after goals from Patrick Warren, Niall McCarthy and Brian Brosnan gave them all three points from their trip to Killorglin who did hit two themselves but came up one short.
Listowel Celtic had a good 5-2 win away to Ballyhar thanks to a Dara Goulding hat trick and one each from Adam Cronin and Maurice Dowling. David Kenny and Niall O’Donoghue were the Ballyhar goal getters.
The Park A and Killarney Athletic A are the pace setters in Division 1 as both moved onto six points from their two games. The Park were 5-2 winners at home to Camp. Dean O’Connell hit the hat trick with the other goals coming from Gearoid Dillane and Harry O’Callaghan.
Darren Mulcahy and Ciaran Kennedy were Listowel Celtic’s scorers as they also won at Pat Kennedy Park beating Castlemaine whose only goal came from Killian Kerins who hit the net on his debut for the club.
Fenit got their League campaign up and running with a big win over Killarney Celtic B.
The one game played in 14’s Division 2 saw unbeaten Listowel Celtic B make it three from three as they were 5-2 winners over Killarney Athletic B. Conor Kennelly was another player who hit a hat trick on a good day for strikers. His three were added to by one each from Michael Kirby and David Quilter.
Tralee Trophy World 16 North:
The Park have the early season bragging rights after they were 3-0 winners over neighbours Kingdom Boys. Fergal O’Donogue, Jessie Stafford Lacey and Paudie Griffin got the goals for The Park.
Listowel Celtic will also be in contention for this tight division as they have made it two wins from two thanks to a 2-1 win at home to Fenit. Darragh Sheehy and Chris Elbell scored for the North Kerry side with Cian McGarry replying for Fenit.
In the Southern section two sides sit on six points after this series of games. Park B were 4-0 winners at home to Killorglin B thanks to goals from Dylan McCarthy 2, Karl Mullins and Danny Brosnan.
Mastergeeha had Shane Crowely 2, Tommy and Andrew Sheehan on the mark as they overcame Ballyhar 4-1 with David O’Connor getting their only score.
Killorglin A had Gavin McKenna and Dan Whittleton on the mark but they went down 5-2 to Killarney Athletic who join them on three points.
