League Reports:
4 becomes 6 in National Cup Last 32
With the Skechers National Cup qualifying rounds in all the age groups now played and all the spots in the Last 32, and in the Regional competitions, have now been filled.
Already through in the Even Ages were Killarney Athletic and Killorglin in the 12’s, Killarney Celtic in the 14’s and The Park in the 16’s.
They were joined this weekend by Killarney Athletic and Tralee Dynamos in the 13’s but sadly Camp Juniors just failed to make it a magnificent seven as they went out away to Newcastlewest Town 7-4 with the damage done in the first half where the found themselves 4-1 down.
But for Killarney Athletic their away trip to Clare to face Avenue United was a winning one. There was only one goal in the game and it was scored by Nathan Cronin in the second half for Athletic who also had a man of the match performance from Mark O’Carroll.
Tralee Dynamos welcomed Holy Cross to their ground and won 4-2 thanks to goals from Nick Lacey and Adam Evans. The pressure the Dynamos exerted on the opposition also forced them into conceding two own goals.
All 6 Kerry sides will be now be awaiting the draws for the Last 32 and also for the Regional competition where 4 of the 6 teams at each age group that have qualified will play in two quarter finals with the other two teams going straight into the semi-finals.
MEK Galaxy go top of the 12 Premier:
In the only game in the JK Sports 12 Premier a 3-0 win by the MEK Galaxy over The Park sees them go top of the table on 9 points from 4 games played. They move above Tralee Dynamos who are on 8 but have 5 games played.
Park up to 3rd in 13 Premier:
In the Daly’s Supervalu 13 Premier the top two sides who are unbeaten were not in action. The Park’s 3-0win over Inter Kenmare, thanks to a hat trick from Endijs Maurins, sees them move up to third place.
Killarney Celtic put in a strong first half against Fenit and were 4-0 up at the break. The added a 5th in the second half to record their first points in three games. Leon Bowler 2, Joey McCarthy, Sean Maher and Oisin Fleming got the goals for Celtic with Cian McKenna replying for the home side.
Killorglin and Listowel Celtic shared 8 goals in a 4-4 thriller that saw both sides earn a point. Listowel Celtic led 4-2 with ten minutes to go but goals from Darragh Lynch thanks to an Aaron Doyle assist and one from Rian O’Sullivan saw them draw level. Lynch scored in a first half that was tied 1-1 with Doyle netting early in the sec ond.
Dingle Bay go 4 from 4 in 13 Division 1:
Goals from Padraig Manning 3, Joe Linnane 2, Cian McGearailt and Michael O’Griffin gave Dingle Bay Rovers their 4th win from4 games as they saw off Park B at Christy Leahy Park.
Mastergeeha made it 2 wins from 2 with a home win over Killarney Athletic B 5-2. The goals from the Kilbrean side came from Sean McAuliffe 3, James O’Connor and Mathew Kennedy. Luke Courtney and Brian McCarthy got the Athletic goals.
Iveragh United are also on 6 points but have more games played after they beat Tralee Dynamos. The goals for the South Kerry side came from Daithi Sugrue, Naoise Sugrue and Zach Driscoll.
MEK Galaxy unbeaten in 13 Division 2 South
MEK Galaxy C are unbeaten in their 4 games in the 13 Division 2 South and are now on 12 points thanks to a win over Inter Kenmare who remain on 7 points. Jamie Vousden had a big day hitting 5 goals and these were added to be strikes from Joe Horan, Liam Casey and David Butler.
Killorglin are up to second place, 1 point ahead of Inter, after their win away at Killarney Athletic C. The Killorglin goals came from Daniel O’Keeffe who got two and Ben Sugrue.
LB joins Park at summit of 13 Division 2 North
St Brendan’s Park C are unbeaten in their three games but were not in action. This allowed LB Rovers join them at the top of the table as they got their third win but do have 4 games played. The LB Rovers goals came from Sam Enright 2 and Shay Murphy.
Ballyhar Dynamos win in 14 Division 2
There was one game in the Slattery’s Carpets and Blinds 14’s Division 2 with Ballyhar Dynamos beating Park B 3-0 thanks to goals from Aaron O’Sullivan, Fionn Coleman and Daithi O’Shea. But they needed a man of the match performance from stand-in keeper Michael O’Sullivan to secure the win.
Killarney Celtic double sees them lead the way in the 15 Premier
In the Killarney Plaza 15 Premier Killarney Celtic have made it two wins from two in the week and they now lead the division as they won away at Listowel Celtic on Saturday. The Killarney Celtic goals came from man of the match Adrian Casey, Luke O’Neill and Eoghan Crowley.
In midweek they had defeated Killorglin under the lights at Celtic Park in a come from behind 2-1 win thanks to goals from Luke O’Neill and Josh Bowler who hit the winner.
The Park are now on 6 points for their three games and level at the top of the Killarney Plazxa 15 Premier with Iveragh United who have a game less played. The Park’s goals came from Venis Jahiri, Rodrigo Pinho, Dylan Hobbert and Richie Healy.
Mastergeeha and Killorglin drew 3-3 at Kilbrean Park with the home side having goals from Hugh Lenihan 2 and Alan O’Leary.
Dynamos alone at the top of 15 Division 1:
Tralee Dynamos won 5-3 at home to Rattoo Rovers and are now clear at the top of the Daly’s Supervalu 13 Division 1. The Dynamos goals came from Jamie O’Shea 3, Sean Whelan and Darragh Cunnane. Darren O’Brien and Jack Enright replied for Rattoo Rovers whose third was an own goal.
Killarney Athletic were playing their opening game and made it a winning one away to Dingle Bay Rovers. Alex Hennigan hit 5 with Cillian O’Connor also on the mark.
All square at the top of 15 Division 2:
LB Rovers defeated Killarney Celtic to join them on 9 points at the top of the 15’s Division 2. The loss was the first points that Celtic dropped in 4 games. For LB Rovers Jack Mallon and Thavien Buckley both hit 3 goals each, Darragh Fitzpartick got 2 and Cillian Hogan the other goal. For Celtic B Maz Brzozowski got 2 and Fionn Noctor the third.
Girls Divisions Round-Up;
In the Girls 13 Premier Inter Kenmare won away at Fenit while Camp Juniors just got the better of Iveragh United away by the odd goal in 5.
For Inter Kenmare the goals came from Phoebe O’Shea, Helena O’Donoghue, Martha O’Sullivan, Kate O’Connor, Alice Granville and Klaudia Merchel who was the player of the match.
Goals from Maebh Courtney and Keelin O’Shea were not enough to get Iveragh United a share of the points in their home game against Camp Juniors who hit three.
Action in the 13 Division 1 began in mid-week when Castleisland won 2-1 at home to MEK Starz. Edel O’Donoghue and Amelia Kerins scored for the home side with Avril Rooney replying for MEK.
There was better news for the Starz as they won away to LB Rovers on Saturday 4-3. Rooney scored again and there were added to be strikes from Keeva Riordan 2 and Sarah O’Sullivan. Cliodhan Buckley and Roisin Fogarty were on the mark for LB Rovers.
Killarney Celtic had goals from Emma Daly 3, Hannah Casey 2 and Caoimhe O’Sullivan in their win over the Park who battled to the end. Goals from Siofra Murphy 2 and Grace Reilly gave Fenit a 3-0 win at home to Ballyheigue.
In the 15’s Inter Kenmare were 4-0 winners over Castleisland thanks to goals from Tara Desmond, Tamara Bokic, Laoise Casey and Lucy Burton.
In the 17 Premier Listowel Celtic beat Killarney Athletic and Inter Kenmare also added three points to their total.
Girl’s Roll of Honour:
There was lots of action this week in the Girls section and those on the Roll of Honour this week are Sarah Warren and Jessica Leggate from Killarney Celtic and Kaja Huserova and Amy Stack Leen from Park. Klaudia Merchel and Alice Granville from Inter Kenmare, Siofra Murphy and Mary Angela Lynch from Fenit, Sarah Lynn Wharton and Avril Rooney from MEK Galaxy and Cliodhan Buckley and Roisin Fogarty representing LB Rovers.
