Round Up from the SFAI Boy’s Inter League Round 1:
It was a busy day on Sunday when four KSBGL teams lined out in the opening round of the SFAI Inter Leagues at 12’s, 13’s, 15’s and 16’s.
Kerry 2-2 Clare SSL: The Kerry North 12’s (the League’s South side are in action next week) were the only side who were at home as they welcomed Clare SSL to Georgie O’Callaghan Park. They led 1-0 thanks to a Daniel Collins goal. Clare levelled from the penalty spot and then went 2-1. Danny Gazi pulled Kerry level and that’s how it ended with both squads giving their all as they set out on the Inter League career.
Limerick County 2-0 Kerry North: The KSBGL are also represented by two sides in the 13’s and the North went down 2-0 away to Limerick County. Both Leagues also had a Development Squad in action with this game ending in a 2-2 draw. Daniel Farmer and Sean Clifford got the Kerry goals.
Cork SSL 1-0 Kerry: This game in the 15’s Inter League was decided by a goal in the 50th minute in favour of the home side and while Kerry created a number of chances they just couldn’t find the coveted equaliser.
Clare 3-3 Kerry: The Clare and Kerry 16’s were involved in a cracker in Newmarket on Fergus. Kerry open the brighter and went ahead on the 10th minute when Jack Slattery scored (again) directly from a croner. Bruno Browzy then put the visitors 2-0 ahead but Clare fought back to draw level.
