Second Round of the 11’s another great success:
26 teams of u11’s took part in the second round of their Non Trophy season. It is great to see these young players enjoying playing and learning the skills of the Beautiful Game from the coaches. It is all about getting players playing and not worrying about goals or scorers at this level.
4 from 4 in Skechers 13’s National Cup Round 2:
Mastergeeha are also through to Round 3 of the Skechers National Cup following a 3-2 home win over Clughjordan. Sean McAuliffe, Ronan McCarthy and James O’Connor were on the score sheet for Mastergeeha who will be at home to AK in the next Round.
Killorglin were too strong for Nenagh and won 8-0 to book a home game in the next round against the winner of Caherdavin and Murroe. The Killorglin goals came from Aaron Doyle 3, Adam O’Neill, Charles O’Sullivan, Oran O’Sullivan and Darragh Lynch.
Killarney Athletic made it a good day as they followed their 13’s into Round 3 with a 5-2 home win over Newmarket Celtic. Alex Hennigan hit 3 with Ryan McCarthy and Tom Benson getting one each for Athletic. Who will be home to Aisling B or Cullen Lattin in the next round.
Killarney Celtic are another team into the next round as they defeated Kilfrush Crusaders 6-1 after being 2-0 up at half time. The Celtic goals came from Josh Bowler, Robbie Harnett, Eoin Crowley, Nattagun Ryan and Edward Myers. Celtic will be at home to the winners of Shelbourne and Killorglin who play next week.
Mastergeeha and The Park both had big wins. The Kilbrean side were 9-1 winners away at Murroe with Hugh Lenihan and Eoin Kelly both scoring hat tricks while Sean Doolan, Jack O’Donoghue and Jack Fogarty got the other goals. Mastergeeha will be at home to the winners of Fairview Rangers and Newport while The Park are away to either Kildimo or Pike Rovers.
Amongst the goals for the Park in their win at Newcastlewest Town were Venis Jahiri 2, Thomas Durege, Odharan Ferris, Obina Izehi and Rodrigo Pinho.
Already through are Camp Juniors who will face Kerry side Tralee Dynamos B, Fenit who are at home to Holy Cross and Killarney Celtic who go to Newcastlewest Town.
Inter Kenmare lost out on penalties 4-3 at home to Avenue United after drawing 1-1. Darragh O’Sullivan got the Inter goal.
Next up 15’s National Cup Round 3:
Killarney Athletic were the first Kerry side to book their place in the Skechers 15’s National Cup Round 3 with a 5-2 win over Newcastlewest. Alex Henningan hit 3 and Ryan McCarthy and Tom Benson one each for the Woodlawn side. Athletic will be at home to Aisling Annacotty B or Cullen Lattin in the next round.
Inter Kenmare’s run ends with a penalty shoot-out defeat at home to Avenue United from Ennis. Darragh O’Sullivan got the Inter goal and they hit the crossbar twice in a game where they did have the better chances.
Mid-week win for Dingle Bay:
There was one game in mid- week in the JK Sports 12 Division 2 South. The West Kerry boys were 2-0 up at the break thanks to goals from Padraig Manning with Cillian McNamara adding a third in the second half.
Home win in 13 Premier
In the Daly’s Supervalu 13 Premier LB Rovers made home advantage count as they defeated Fenit 4-1. Leigh Meehan hit 3 for LB with Daithi Keane Tyrrell getting the other goal while Kealan O’Dowd replied for Fenit.
The Park and Listowel Celtic drew 1-1 with Ryan O’Driscoll getting the Tralee sides goal while their keeper Brayden Pierce had a big game to earn his side a point.
Iveragh United win down south in 13 Division 1
There was a hat trick for David Kennedy and goals from Daithi Sugrue, Marc O’Connor, Zack Driscoll and Alex Kelly in Iveragh United’s home win over Killarney Celtic B. Inter Kenmare B and Park B drew 1-1. Cathal McSwiney scored for Inter with Jerry Lynch replying for Park B.
Win and draw in 13’s Division 2 South
MEK Galaxy C were 7-2 winners away to Killorglin B for whom Nathan Coffey and Cian Hynes scored. This game was not as straight forward for the Mid Kerry side as the score line suggest. MEK were 2-1 up at half time but didn’t score their third until the last quarter of the game and then pulled away. For MEK Galaxy the goals came from Joe Horan and Jamie Vousden who both got two each and Noah O’Shea, Tom O’Dowd and Eanna Murphy who both got one each.
In the other game Ballyhar Dynamos came back from 2-0 down at half time to snatch a point away to Inter Kenmare. David Burke and Eugene Danielle scored for Ballyhar with Giuseppe Doyle and John O’Sullivan scoring for Inter who move onto 4 points.
13’s Division 2 North
In the 13’s Division 2 North there were wins for the Park C over LB Rover who had Noah Slemon on the mark while Listowel Celtic B took the 3 points with a 3-0 win over Fenit.
Win and Draw in 15’s Division 1
Tralee Dynamos were the side to take three points in the Killarney Plaza 15’s Division 1 as they won 6-2 away to Dingle Bay Rovers. Dynamos goals came from Jamie O’Shea and Darragh Commane 2 each and one from Tom Quilligan and Aidan Horgan. Paddy Ryan and Aaron Hughes got the Rovers goals.
Rattoo Rovers and Fenit played out a 2-2 draw with Fenit coming from behind twice. Alex McGrath got both goals for Fenit with Killian Boyle and Jack Enright on the mark for Rovers.
Celtic B beat Rovers B in 15’s Division 2
There was only one game in the Killarney Plaza 15’s Division 2 with Killarney Celtic B winning at home against LB Rovers. Adam Doherty and Max Brzozowski got two each for Celtic with Walid Khalil, Brian O’Connor and Fionn Noctor getting one each. For the North Kerry side TJ O’Sullivan and Thavien Buckley were on the mark with Jack Mallon impressing.
Girls Reports
13 Premier Action:
In the 13 Girls Premier only side to take the full three points were Fenit Samphires as they came out on the right side of a 3-2 score line away to Camp Juniors. Elisha Deady got two for the winners with Miah Carmody getting their third.
The points were shared by the two Celtic at the game played in Killarney. Laura Falvey and Holly Boyle scored for the visitors who were 1-0 up at the break. Aine Fitzgerald and Clogadh Moriarty replied for Killarney Celtic White in the 2-2 draw.
The Iveragh United / MEK Galaxy game ended on the same score line with Caragh Shanahan and Vilte Paulauskiene scoring for the South Kerry girls. Naoishe O’Donoghue was on the mark for MEK with the equaliser being an og.
Two away and one home win in 13’s Division 1
Killarney Celtic Green were a little too strong for Fenit B with Jessica Leggate, Emma Daly, Hannah Casey, Cora O’Donovan, Grainne Kelliher and Caoimhe O’Neill on the mark for the Hoops. Siofra Murphy replied for Fenit who were also best served by Aoife Moynihan and Erin Tuite.
Dingle B ay Rovers won at home to MEK Galaxy Starz. The West Kerry side had goals from Hanna Nic Gearailt 2, Hannah Granville, Ciara Kennedy, Sibeal ni Seaghan and Jude Ryan.
LB Rovers were 4-2 winners at home to Killarney Celtic Gold. Sadie Ryan , Rosin Fogarty 2 and Erica McSherry got the goals for LB while Norita O’Brien got both goals for Celtic.
Listowel Celtic win in 17 Girls:
Listowel Celtic were the winners of the only game in the 17 Girls Premier. Melanie Higgins, Kelly Enright and Ciara Henderson were the Listowel Celtic scorers with Paula Holmes scoring and putting in a player of the match performance for Fenit.
Girls Roll of Honour: The girls whose performance stood out at the weekend were Heather McCann and Erin Tuite from Fenit, Holly Boyle Listowel Celtic, Grainne Kelliher Killarney Celtic, Naoishe O’Donoghue of MEK and Carragh Shanahan of Iveragh United.
