Skechers SFAI National Cups continues:
There was action in the Even age Skechers National Cup as Kerry teams chase places in the nationwide Last 32 and into the Regional play-offs.
In the 12’s Killarney Athletic are one round away from that Last 32 as they defeated MEK Galaxy 3-1 thanks to a Cillian Cooney hat trick. They will be at home in the next round to Lough Derg who defeated St Brendan’s Park 2-0 at Christy Leahy Park.
Killorglin proved to be much too strong for Knigh United and set up a away trip to either Cahercomlish or Shannon Hibs.
Killarney Celtic have reached the Last 32 of the 14’s after an extra time win over Fairview Rangers at Celtic Park. A Jamie Moynihan free kick and a Josh Bowler goal saw the sides drew 2-2. However Celtic took over in the extra time thanks to goals from Padraig O’Donoghue, Jamie Moynihan with his second and Callum Cronin.
Unfortunately Killarney Athletic are out as they went down away to Granville Rangers on penalties. Goals from Oran O’Neill and Tom Benson saw Athletic fight back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2. But it was the Limerick side that progressed 2-0 on penalties.
Probably the performance of the day was by the Park who won away at Fairview Rangers in Limerick. Sean Hurley and Sean O’Connor both scored 2 each with Cian O’Neill getting the 5th in their 5-0 win. This puts the Park into the Last 32 and also into the Regional competition. Ballyhar Dynamos and Killorglin will be rescheduled due to the weather.
Camp win and Dynamos draw in 12 Premier
In the JK Sports 12 Premier Tralee Dynamos and Killarney Celtic drew 3-3 in Tralee’s Low Field. For the home side Ryan Onyekwere, Molly Duggan and Christy Boy Burke were the scorers.
Camp Juniors were 5-1 winners on the road defeating Mastergeeha at Kilbrean Park. Mike O’Leary 3, Robert Keane and Darragh Murphy scored for Camp with Ben Carmody replying for the home side.
One game in 12’s Division 1:
There one game in the JK Sports 12 Division 1 on Saturday and it saw Inter B win at home. They defeated Castleisland 4-1 with Caoileann Desmond, Philip O’Sullivan, Neal Hyland and Michael Jones on the mark.
On Sunday at Murt Scott Park the Park C defeated the home side 3-1. Harry O’Connor got the goal for Ballyhar Dynamos who also had their keeper Eoin O’Mahony in great form.
Park B’s win gets even age action underway in 12 Division 2 North:
The Park B took on Ballyheigue at Christy Leahy Park in mid-week in the JK Sports 12’s Division 2 North and took the points thanks to goals from Brian Fealy, Matousz Plascica, Shaiiid Alijiz and James Tarrant. At Georgie O’Callaghan Park Camp Juniors B defeated the home side 3-1. Sean O’Connor was on the mark for Castleisland B.
Mastergeeha and Listowel Celtic B drew 3-3 with the goals for the Kilbrean side coming from James Kelly 2 and Owen O’Sullivan while Tralee Dynamos got the three points with a 3-0 win over Ballyheigue.
Goals by the dozen in 12’s Division 2 South
There was a dozen goals shared in the game between Inter Kenmare B and Killarney Celtic B. For the Killarney side Declan Grimes, Patrick Coffey, Pa O’Brien 2, James Coffey and Jack Culloty.
Athletic win at home in the 13 Premier
In the Daly’s Supervalu 13 Premier Killarney Athletic were 3-0 winners at home to Inter Kenmare. The game was scoreless at the break but goals from Mark O’Carroll, Fionn Daly and Luke Doolan gave the Woodlawn side the home win.
Away wins in 14 Premier
Killorglin put in a strong second half away to Tralee Dynamos in the Slattery’s Carpets and Blinds14 Premier. They were 1-0 up at the break but ran out 5-1 winners with Stephen Gannon 2, Liam Hayes, Finn Barrett from the penalty spot and Andrew Owens getting the goals.
Goals from Immanuel Manu and William Jakpobi were enough to give the Park a 2-0 win away at Castleisland.
Killorglin B and Mastergeeha win in 14’s Division 1
Killorglin B defeated Killarney Celtic B at Celtic Park with Cian O’Brien, Logan Foley, Darragh Clifford, Jack Evan and Mathew O’Loughlin on the mark for the winners and Oisin Fleming replying for Celtic.
Mastergeeha were 6-2 winners at home to Dingle Bay Rovers. Emmet Spillane hit 4 for the home side with Jack Tangney and Gavin Barry also on the mark.
Ballyhar win in 14 Division 2:
There was only one game in the Slattery’s Carpets 14’s Division 2 with Ballyhar winning in Murt Scott Park. They defeated Dingle Bay Rovers thank to two goals from Daithi O’Shea and one each from Michael O’Sullivan, Sean Daly, Rian Brosnan and Fionn Coleman.
Weather wins in one game 16’s Division 1
In the Tralee Trophy 16’s Division 1 the weather was the winner with the Fenit versus LB Rovers game abandoned at half time. The away side led 2-1 with Fenit scoring from the penalty spot through a Dylan Ryan penalty. Darragh Fitzpatrick had got both goals for LB Rovers. This game will be fixed for a future date.
However there were no such issues for Listowel Celtic as they were 7-1 winners at home to Ballyheigue. Ajay Behan scored 4 while Jack Carty, Adam Segal and Sam Cooke were also all on the scoresheet.
Both sides away in Girls 13’s
The mid-week 13’s Girls North Kerry derby between Ballyheigue and LB Rovers took place at the Ardfert astro. And it was the Rovers that took the win with goals from Roisin Fogarty, Emma O’Rourke, Cliodhna Buckley and Leona Meeney. For Ballyheigue Shannon and Paige Drury, Ciara O’Connor and Cliodhna Carroll were the stand-out players.
Camp just in Girls 15’s
In the Girls 15’s Premier Camp Juniors just got the better of Castleisland in a 5 goal thriller. Suivi O’Connor got 2 and Meabh Slattery got the other for Camp. Emily O’Donoghue and Aoife Roche scored for Castleisland.
