Reports:
Defeat in Gaynor Openers for 13’s and 15’s
Kerry began their grading tournament for the 2019 Gaynor Cup with away defeats by Limerick Desmond for the 13’s and 15’s. Both sides will be in UL in May /June for the biggest week of underage girls soccer but the 4 game qualifying process will decide if they play in the Cup or Trophy competition.
The 13’swere without their keeper who had to pull out sick went down 2-0 to Limerick Desmond while the 15’s were beaten 6-0 by the Desmond girls who were at the 14’s Gaynor next year and who would be well ahead of the Kerry girls in terms of experience.
The Kerry 13’s and 15’s will be at home to South Tipperary in their next group game.
Top 2 win in 12 Girls Premier
Killarney Celtic White continue to lead the way by three points from Inter Kenmare as both sides added three points from their games.
Killarney Celtic White defeated MEK Starz 6-0 while Inter Kenmare also won at home defeating Iveragh United 3-0. Naoishe O’Donoghue, Eve Culhane, Abbie Finnan and Leah O’Grady got the Celtic White scores.
Listowel Celtic continue to keep the pressure on the two sides above them after they saw off Killarney Celtic Green at Celtic Park. Lisa Slattery hit 4 and Laura Falvey 2 for the North Kerry girls while Jessica Leggate got both goals for Killarney Celtic.
Goals from Meabh Carmody, Grace Reilly, Ciara Quilter and Grace O’Dowd gave Fenit the win over Killarney Athletic in Woodlawn on Sunday.
Park and Listowel Celtic win on Saturday and Killarney Celtic on Sunday in 12 Premier
Things have tightened up in the JK Sports 12 Premier. The Park had a good win over Killarney Athletic who were in second place at the start of play. Goals from Noah Carroll, Sam Slattery and Ronan Carroll gave the Tralee side the win at Christy Leahy Park.
Listowel Celtic have moved level with Athletic and Tralee Dynamos after the beat the latter 2-1 at home. Ruairi O’Connell and Conor Sweeney got the Listowel Celtic goals with Conor Lucey replying for Dynamos.
Inter Kenmare dropped their first points of the season when they went down 1-0 at home to Killarney Celtic. Joshua Williams got the all- important goal midway through the second half.
7 up for Fenit in 12’s Division 1:
The two unbeaten sides in the JK Sports 12 Division 1 met with Fenit keeping their record unblemished as the defeated Killarney Athletic 3-0 for their 7th win from 7. Tom Quilter, Aaron Harty and Jayden Deady for the Fenit goal while at the other end Jack Dwyer saved an Athletic penalty.
Tralee Dynamos B missed the chance to go joint second and they remain two points behind Athletic as they were held to a 4-4 draw away at Mastergeeha. Francis O’Brien 2, Cody O’Sullivan and Mollie Duggan got the Dynamos goals while Calvin O’Sullivan was impressive for the Tralee side in goals.
Camp Juniors are also well in contention after they came from behind to defeat Killarney Celtic B. Colm Janot put Celtic B ahead at the break but goals from Dean Goodwin and 2 from Dylan Harrington gave Camp Juniors three valuable points.
Ballyhar will be happy after they continue to improve and they defeated Park B 4-2. Jake Keating, Sean Barry, Gearoid Looney and Davin Quilter got the home side goals with Oliver Lata and Sam Akinyemi replying for the Park.
Iveragh United win battle of top 2 in 12’s Division 2 South:
Going into the game Iveragh United and MEK were unbeaten in their 5 games and locked together on 15 points. After the game it was the South Kerry side that remain unbeaten thanks to a hard fought 2-1 win. Iveragh went 2-0 up thanks to goals from Daithi Sugrue and David Kennedy with James Clifford pulling one back for MEK.
Killorglin B are within 2 points of second place after their 4-3 win over Tralee Dynamos C. Rioghan O’Sullivan was in outstanding form hitting all his sides goals while Cormac O’Riordan saved a penalty.
Showing how tight this Division is the other two games ended in draws. Mastergeeha and Killarney Athletic C shared 6 goals. Sean Cox 2 and Tadgh Herlihy got the Mastergeeha goals with Bryan O’Connor, William Roguago and Cillian Coffey replying for Athletic C.
Darragh O’Sullivan equalised for Inter Kenmare C as they drew 1-1 at Killarney Celtic C.
Three goals for the three winners in Division 2 North
The top three sides in the JK Sports 12 Division 2 North all scored three goals with only leaders LB Rovers conceding one goal.
They beat Ballyheigue 3-1 with Cody Goggin, Oran O’Sullivan and Eamon O’Connor on the mark while Adam Thornton replied for Ballyheigue.
Camp Juniors stay level with LB Rovers on 15 points but they do have a game in hand after they saw off Fenit B 3-0 while Park C who are three points behind the leaders but also have games in hand defeated Dingle Bay Rovers 3-0 away.
Iveragh United the new leaders of the 14 Premier
Iveragh United are the new leaders of the Quills Woollen Mills 14 Premier, by a point, after they were 5-1 away winners at Killorglin. Donagh Shine and Zac Fayen both got two each with Oisin Breen getting the other goal.
The battle of the Celtic finished level with Pat Mulvihill and Oisin Healy scoring for Listowel while Jack O’Sullivan and Robert Brooks got the Killarney goals.
Athletic go 4 from 4 but Dynamos chasing hard in 14 Division 1
Killarney Athletic continue to lead the Quills Woollen Mills 14’s Division 1 thanks to a 2-0 away win at Fenit. Josh Coffey opened the scoring for Athletic following a Thomas Healy cross. Ryan McCarthy flicked home a second after a Maidhci Lynch shot.
Tralee Dynamos are only 1 win behind Athletic following their impressive win away at Killarney Celtic B. The goals came from Evan and Tom Quilligan, Luke Horgan, Kian Sheehan, Sean Whealan and Alex Hoare.
Goals Galore in 14’s Division 2
Dingle Bay Rovers extended their lead at the top of the 14’s Division 1 but have a game more played. Their job was made easier when MEK goalkeeper Mathew O’Connor was forced off with a muscle injury very early in the game. Dingle Bay Rovers goals came from James Hoare, Oscar Donnegan, Paddy Ryan, Patrick Cahill, Kieran Moran and Edgar.
LB Rovers moved 2 points ahead of MEK and into second place following an extraordinary game away to Mastergeeha B which produced 14 goals.
Thavien Buckley 3, Mikey Dunworth and Darragh Fitzpatrick 2 each while Padraig Fogarty and Patrick Walsh were on the mark for the Rovers. Jack Tagney, Gavin Cronin, Jack O’Donoghue, Euan Evans and Adam Murphy replied for Mastergeeha B.
Camp Juniors win early to stay top of 16 Premier
Camp Juniors open the weekend’s action by defeating Inter Kenmare on Friday night. The game was played on the Killarney Celtic All Weather and goals from Cian Brosnan 4, Oisin Breen, Kian Clancy and Cian Wright sees them move onto 4 wins from 4 played.
Killorglin are chasing hard and their win over Killarney Celtic keeps them just three points behind Camp. Dylan Moriarty 2, Cillian Burke and Mikey O’Donnell got their goals while a Cian McMahon hit a cracking 25 yarder against the win for Celtic.
The Park put a dent in Ballyhar’s aspirations of a top 2 finish as they won 4-2 at Christy Leahy Park. Ryan Guerin, David O’Callaghan, Rob Vassiu and Dan Fisher scored for the Park with Peter Cosgrave continuing his hot streak with both Ballyhar goals.
Park B joins Rattoo Rovers at the top of the 16 Division 1
With unbeaten leaders Rattoo Rovers, 4 from 4 on 12 points, not playing the Park B moved onto the same mark but with a game more played. The Tralee side defeated Iveragh United thanks to goals from Sean O’Connell 3, Mark Brick, Cian O’Neill, Ben Hannafin and Cillian Murphy.
Killarney Athletic added another 3 points to their total with a 4-1 away win over Windmill United. Rossa Bellew, Will Shine 2 and Junior Alade were the Athletic scorers with Eric McMahon replying for Windmill United.
Fenit will be happy with their 3-0 win at home to Killorglin B with the winners goals coming from Paddy Walsh and Eddie McCarthy.
National Cup Last 32:
The Kerry sides left in the National Cup now know their opposition in the Last 32. The draw for the Open Round took place at the SFAI Council meeting with Fixture Secretary Aidan Murnane representing the League.
In the 13’s St Brendan’s Park make the long trip to Carndonagh FC, the 14’s has Killarney Celtic at home to Cherry Orchard while in the 15’s both Kerry sides have been given home draws.
The Park will face Renmore AFC at Christy Leahy Park while Wexford Albion will be the visitors to Celtic Park in Killarney.
Regional Semi-finals: In the Regional 13’s The Park will play Aisling Annacotty in the Regional semi-final, in the 14’s semi-final Killarney Celtic go to Shannon Town while in the 15’s Regionals semi-finals the Kerry sides are away. Killarney Celtic go to Galbally United while the Park will travel to the winners of Regional and Aisling Annacotty.
