The 2014 / 15 Kerry Schoolboys League kicked off with games in the even ages.

JK Sports 12’s:

In the JK Sports 12 Premier Killorglin A won at Killarney Celtic 3-1. Dylan Moriarty, Darragh Callan and Cillian Burke scored for the visitors to Celtic Park who took home the points. Ronan Coffey had put Killarney Celtic 1-0 up.

Foundation Sports 14’s:

The Foundation Sports 14’s Divisions also got underway with two games on Friday night. The Tralee Dynamos team in the Premier had the honour of being the first team from the club to play since the name change from Kingdom Boys.

Leo Gaxha and Sean Kennedy put the Dynamos 2-0 up but Darren O’Shea halved the deficit and a last minute Dylan O’Neill saw the points shared.

Killarney Celtic made their trip down the road to Athletic a winning one. Darragh Lyne opened the Celtic scoring and Mike Lenihan and Ryan Kelliher both added two each to wrap up the win.

In the 14’s Division 1 Killarney Celtic B were the winners over Killorglin B at Celtic Park. While it finished 5-1 to Celtic it was much closer until the break. Tim O’Shea scored for Killorglin in the first but the home side led 2-1. They added 3 without reply in the second period. Evan Smith, Dylan McCarthy, Adam Kissane, Mathew Maye and David Cantillon were the Celtic scorers.

St Bernard’s and Listowel Celtic C were the winners in 14’s Division 2. Goals from Oisin Maunsell and Mikey Clifford gave St Bernard’s a 2-0 home win over Fenit.

Listowel Celtic has an abundance of talent at this age group and has 3 teams. The B’s took on the C’s and it was the latter that took the three points. Ted Moloney, Conor Hogan, Michael Nolan, JP O’Carroll, Andrew Murphy and Ronan O’Neill all got their names on the score-sheet for the C’s. Cian McGrath with 3 and Liam Guiney got the goals for the B’s.

Tralee Trophy World 16’s:

Killarney Celtic got over a tricky opening day fixture in the Premier with a 3-0 win away to Killorglin. Niall O’Donoghue, Mark Harnett and Mike Potts got the Hoops goals.

In Division 1 Ballyhar were 3-1 winners over Killarney Athletic at Murt Scott Park. Diarmuid O’Mahoney, Cian Callaghan and Caimin Sheedy got the goals for the home side with Sean O’Sullivan replying for Athletic.

Camp’s Jimmy O’Grady had an opening day to remember hitting 5 goals which were added to by one each from Ruadhain McCarthy and Adam McAuliffe.

Iveragh United made it a winning return to the Schoolboys League in the 16’s Division 2 defeating Castlemaine away 4-3. Pierce McGill showed he has lost none of his goal scoring abilities hitting a 4 goals for the South Kerry side, one coming direct from a corner. Cian Flynn, Killian Kerins and Liam Nagle were on the mark for Castlemaine.

The Park B and Killarney Celtic B shared the points in a 1 all draw. James Kelly equalised late on for Celtic after Ruairi Kelly had put the Tralee side ahead.

The Park missed the chance to go two ahead after their penalty came back off the post midway through the second half.
