SFAI Girls National Cups get Underway:
The SFAI Girls National Cups are played at the Even Ages – 12’s, 14’s and 16’s and the first rounds took place across the country this weekend including here in the South West Region.
In the 12’s Girls Killarney Athletic are into Round 2 as they defeated Killorglin who will now go into the Shield Round 1. The Athletic goals came from Lillian Slattery who hit 4 with Ella Crowley getting the other goal.
Inter Kenmare made it two wins from two for the Kerry sides as they ran out easy winners away to St Ita’s. Their goals came from Caragh Lynch, Niamh Healy, Sadbh O’Mahony and Rebecca Jones.
St Brendan’s Park’s game away to Kilfrush Crusaders was called off late on meaning that the Tralee side are also into Round 2.
MEK Galaxy 14’s made the trip to Lough Derg B a winning one thanks to goals from Rachel Clifford 3, Izzy Lyons and Anna Allen two each and one each from Louise O’Donoghue and Kate Lyons.
Inter Kenmare will be in the Shield after they lost out in Round 1 away to Charleville.
KSBGL Leagues
12’s Girls Premier
Goals from Elisa Mosca, Mia Cox, Nell Casey, Leah Mannix and Orla Forde saw Killarney Celtic win at Fenit Samphires whose reply came from Fiadh Neilan.
Goals from Aoibh NicGearailt, Isobelle O’Connor, Ava Harty, Elizabeth Allen and Grace Barry saw MEK Galaxy win away at Listowel Celtic.
12’s Girls Division 1
A Lucy Wynne goal was the only score in this game giving Ballyhar Dynamos girls a 1-0 home win over Camp Juniors at Mort Scott Park.
A Roisin Ni hOgain hat trick and a goal from Emily Piggott gave Dingle Bay Rovers a 4-2 away win against Listowel Celtic B whose replies came from Aisling O’Connor and Orla Lyons.
14’s Girls Division 1:
Mastergeeha and Dingle Bay Rovers 14’s Girls were involved in a goal-fest in their Division 1 clash in Mounthawk. The West Kerry clubs goals came from Roise Ni Gabhi 2, Saoirse Brosnan, Riona Ni Chuinn and Aoife Wright. Replying for the home side were Grace Murphy and Naoise Ni Bhrein who both hit two each and Ellie O’Sullivan who got 1.
16’s Girls Premier
Two goals from Sarah Warren and one each from Abby Cronin and Kate Forde saw Killarney Celtic take the points in a home win over Fenit Samphires.
Suvi O’Connor and Izzy McGrath got the goals as MEK Galaxy won 2-0 at St Brendan’s Park.
The Listowel Celtic versus Inter Kenmare game saw 9 goals scored. On the mark for Inter Kenmare were Lauren O’Shea 3 and Hazel Mulcahy. Getting the Listowel Celtic goals were Laura Falvey 2, Rebecca Mahony 2 and Laura Meehan.
SFAI 15’s National Cup:
In the All KSBGL SFAI National Cup 15’s Round 1 Killarney Celtic defeated Camp Juniors under lights at Celtic Park in mid-week. Their goals came from Pa O’Brien, Samuel Scroope, James Murphy and Jack Culloty.
Slattery’s 12’s Division 2
Mastergeeha B just came out on the wrong side of a 9 goal thriller against Killarney Athletic C in Kilbrean Park. Adam Warren got 2 for the home side with Tyler Lenihan and Nathan Herlihy getting one each.
Ben Casey and Mark Doona both hit two each for Killarney Athletic with Diarmuid O’Donoghue getting the 5th goal.
Macron 13’s Premier
Goals from Harry Donoghue and Daniel Collins saw Castleisland lead at Inter Kenmare whose goal came from Tony Desmond. A last minute penalty just skimmed the crossbar denying Inter a point. Castleisland keeper Connie O’Connor had earlier made a number of big saves to keep his side ahead.
Tralee Dynamos made the perfect start at home to Killorglin going 2-0 up but the visitors hit back and ran out 5-2 winners. Calum Ross, Luca Fusco and Ben Clifford got the Dynamos goals while two each from Cillian Casey and Tommy Foley and one from Darragh McKenna were the Killorglin scorers.
Killarney Athletic won 2-1 away at Fenit Samphires thanks to goals from Sean Lyne and Enna Hennigan.
On Sunday Calvin O’Sullivan hit a hat trick and Shane Griffin got one as St Brendan’s Park won at home to Mastergeeha whose reply came from Darragh Keane.
13’s Division 1
Goals from Darragh Lucey and Lucas Coleman saw Killarney Athletic B defeat neighbours Celtic B in Woodlawn. Jason Harrington got the visitors goal.
St Brendan’s Park had goals from Harvey Leen, Ciaran Brosnan, Patrick Leen, Kaylan O’Connell, Ondray Gabor and Xavier in their home win over Camp Juniors.
LB Rovers made home advantage count as they defeated Mastergeeha B who had goals from Derry Gorman and Aidan Huggard. Three of the home side hit two goals each – Fionain Mason, Shane Mason and Evan Mannix while Sencha O’Brien got the other one.
13’s Division 2
Two goals from Darragh Riordan and one each from Senan Murphy and Mark McSharry saw Mastergeeha C win away at Tralee Dynamos B.
Killorglin B hit 2 in the first half and 4 more in the second half without reply through Cathal Clifford 2, Liam McGrath, Peter Foley, Noah Russell and Sean Moriarty in their win at home to Inter Kenmare B.
Three goals from Evan Cronin and one each from Liam O’Connor, Joey Sheehan and Darragh Sullivan saw Castleisland win at home to Ballyhar Dynamos.
World of Tiles 14’s Division 1
The points were shared when Ballyhar Dynamos and Killarney Athletic met at Mort Scott Park. Conor Edwards and Iascc Vickers were on the mark for the home side with Eanna Hennigan and Finn O’Donnell getting the Athletic goals.
Power Travel 15’s Premier
A Daniel Farmer hat trick put St Brendan’s Park in control at home to Listowel Celtic before the visitors pulled one back. Farmer’s day got better when he added a fourth for his side to wrap up the scoring.
Jayden Farrell, Fergal Murphy and Kevin Coffey scored for MEK Galaxy as they came out on the right side of a 3-2 score line away to Killorglin whose goals came from Tomas Joy and Colm Evans
Robbie Guest and Michael Jones were on the mark for Inter Kenmare as they won 2-0 at home to Tralee Dynamos but they needed a big display, including a penalty save, from keeper DJ Harrington.
15’s Division 1
Goals from Pa O’Brien, Jack Culloty, Samuel Scroope, Cian Stack and Mark Looney saw Killarney Celtic keep the points at Celtic Park from their game with Inter Kenmare B.
Ballyhar Dynamos and Mastergeeha were involved in a 9 goal thriller at Mort Scott Park against Mastergeeha. Killian Slattery hit 3 and Anthony Cremin and Davin Quilter one each in the win. Patrick O’Riordan notched up a hat trick for Mastergeeha with Zach Cronin also on the mark.
15’s Division 2
3 goals from Jeremiah Flynn and one each from William McCarthy, Seamus Phelan, Mike O’Brien, Sean O’Connor and Adam Gincel gave Castleisland B the win at home to Killarney Athletic B.
Despite a player-of-the-match performance from goalkeeper JP Godley Mastergeeha took the win away at Ballyheigue. Joe Lovett was on the mark from the home side. The Mastergeeha scorers were Ruairi O’Donoghue, Craig Brosnan, Shane Daly and Krystzof Silenski.
Goals for Jayden Corcoran, Cathal O’Sullivan and Ramon Khan saw Iveragh United win away at Killarney Celtic B.
Tralee Trophy World 16’s Division 2
Mastergeeha C made the short trip to Killarney Athletic B a winning one following a hat trick from Ruairi O’Donoghue and 2 from Conor Warren. John O’Sullivan got the Athletic goal.
