National Cup Reports – 6 of the Best:

In the 11’s Killarney Celtic and Kingdom Boys are now only one win away for the Last 32, and the Open Nationwide draw, and both have home ties in Round 4 following their wins last weekend.  Killarney Celtic were very impressive 4-0 winners over Avenue thanks to a Ryan Kelliher hat trick and one from Liam Spillane. They face Aisling Annacotty in the next round.

Kingdom Boys had a very good 1-0 win away to Mungret with John Carmody getting the vital score. The Tralee boys will now welcome Granville with a place in Open Draw up for grabs.

Two Kerry sides are also left in the 13’s after Round 3 with Killorglin and Kingdom Boys progressing. Both sides won on the road with Killorglin beating Croom.  Aaron McCarthy was outstanding and scored both Killorglin goals who travel to Mungret in the next round.

Kingdom Boys were too strong for Granville with a performance that will certainly mark them out as one to watch as they won 6-1. Potent goal scorers Odhran Liston got 3 and Dillon Robinson 2 with Rian O’Sullivan also on the score sheet. Next up for Kingdom Boys is a home tie against Charleville.

However Listowel Celtic and The Park made their exits with Celtic going down 3-1 to Mungret Regional. Neilus Mackessy got the Listowel Celtic goal.

The Park were 1-0 up in the dying stages away to Charleville but the home side conjured an equaliser and went on to win 4-1 after extra time.

The same number of teams are also left in 15’s competition. Killarney Athletic made the worst possible start, going 1-0 down to Ballingarry. However from then on it was all Athletic who ran out a very impressive 7-1 winners thanks to Adam O’Shea 3, Michael Casey 2 and one each from Owen O’Meara and Dylan O’Sullivan.  The result of this is that Kerry will definitely have at least one team in the Last 32 as Athletic will welcome The Park to Woodlawn in Round 4.

Listowel Celtic will also be very hopefully of progressing as they booked their place in the next round thanks to a 2-1 win away to Pallas. Aidan Quinn and Michael Foley were the Listowel Celtic goal getters. They await the winners of Abbeyfeale and Templemore in the next round.

Killarney Celtic’s run is over as goals from Evan Cronin and Cathal O’Shea weren’t enough to beat Charleville who won 4-2.
