Kerry in Clare for Subway 15’s Round 2:
Kerry followed up their opening round win over Limerick District with an away trip to Tulla to take on Clare. And it was the home side that took the lead following a penalty that was saved by Richie Healy but the Clare attacker followed up. Kerry chased the game with Odhran Ferris and Venis Jahiri going closest but they were caught on the break and then Clare wrapped up the win late on.
Three sides one round away from the Last 32:
The Skechers SFAI 13’s National Cup continued this weekend and three Kerry sides are in Round 4 and one win away from the Last 32. Camp Juniors became the first side to progress as they won the all Kerry mid-week clash defeating Tralee Dynamos B 1-0. Darragh Murphy got the all- important goal.
There was better news for the Dynamos A side as they are through thanks to a win over Inter Kenmare. The Dynamos goals came from Adam Evans 2, Rory O’Halloran, Pierce Lowth and Cody O’Sullivan.
Killarney Athletic are also looking forward to Round 4 as they had an impressive away win at BT Harps. Luke Doolan was on fire hitting 5 goals with 2 from Fionn Daly and one each from Szymon Jazinski and Mark O’Connell.
These are the only remaining sides in the 13’s section. Mastergeeha went out 2-1 away to AK United with Evan O’Sullivan getting the Kilbrean sides goal. Darragh Lynch scored twice for Killorglin but it wasn’t enough to put them through as they lost out by a single goal at home to Caherdavin. Fenit and Holy Cross were level 0-0 at the break but two early goals for the Tipperary side and one late on sees them through while Killarney Celtic lost out 2-1 away to Newcastelwest Town.
No Joy in 15’s National Cup:
There was no joy for the four Kerry sides in the 15’s National Cup with the winners going into the Last 32. Venis Jahiri scored for the Park but they went out 2-1 away to Kildimo whose winner came from the penalty spot.
Alex Hennigan put Killarney Athletic 1-0 up at home to Cullen/Lattin but they levelled and then got the winner with the last kick of the game to knock the Woodlawn side out. Killarney Celtic also made their exit losing 2-1 at home to Shelbourne. Mastergeeha had goals from Hugh Lenihan and Jack Fogarty and also had a goal disallowed in their very tight 3-2 loss at home to Fairview Rangers.
Next week nine Kerry sides are in Even Age National Cup action with the winners of the 14’s and 16’s games going into the Last 32.
League Round Up:
Hat trick gives LB all three points in 13 Premier:
A Leigh Meehan hat trick gave LB Rovers all three points in the Daly’s Supervalu 13 Premier win over St Brendan’s Park.
Two wins and a draw in 13 Division 1:
Killarney Athletic B were 5-3 winners in Woodlawn over Iveragh United. Ryan Brady got 2 and William, Karl James O’Neill and Brian McCarthy also hit the net for Athletic while Daithi Sugrue 2 and Marc O’Connor were the Iveragh scorers.
Dingle Bay Rovers were too strong at home for a younger Inter Kenmare B side while a Nadal Rivas goal gave the Park B a 1-1 draw with Killarney Celtic B at Christy Leahy Park.
Goal galore for the winners in 13 Division 2 North
The two winning sides had their shooting boots on in the Daly’s Supervalu 13 Division 2 North. LB Rovers had a hat trick from Sam Enright and two each from Jake Rochford and Oran O’Sullivan in their win over Camp Juniors with Mikey O’Leary replying for Camp.
The Park are very strong in this Division and had Jamie Tarrant, Shuijb Aligi, Nikita Hoare, Saad Abdalla, Marius Kubic, Patrick Wytalik and Brian Heaphy on the mark in their win over Fenit.
Home and Away wins in the 13 Division 2 South
Goals from Eanna Murphy, Joe Horan, Neal O’Shea, Jamie Vourdan, Ryan Carey and Patrick O’Neill gave MEK Galaxy the win over Mastergeeha B.
There was a goal-fest in Kenmare when Killorglin B defeated the home clubs C team 7-4. On the mark for Inter were John O’Sullivan who hit 3 and one from Jack Wiggins. Cian Hynes and Dylan Counihan both scored twice for Killorglin who also had goals from Darren O’Sullivan, Noel Hannon and Dylan Flynn. Keeper Corey Campion also saved an Inter penalty.
Cracker in Dingle in 15 Division 1
The Killarney Plaza Division 1 game in Dingle proved to be an exciting one with the home side just getting the better of Rattoo Rovers 7-5. For Dingle Bay Rovers Oscar Donnegan hit 3 with Paddy Ryan and Diarmuid O’Seaghda both getting two each. The Rattoo Rovers goals came from Killian Boyle 3, Darren O’Brien, Ray McGrath and Aaron Whyte.
Both away sides win in 15 Division 2
There were two games in the Killarney Plaza 15 Division 2 with the two away sides taking all three points. Mikey Dunworth,Thavien Buckley, TJ O’Sullivan, Jose Lechunga and Daniel Barrett all got on the score-sheet for LB Rovers in their win over Killorglin B.
Killarney Celtic B had two goals each, including a late late winner, from Fionn Noctor and Maxc Brzozowski in their win over Athletic B in Woodlawn. For the Blues Rohan Saha, Ben Kimfuta and Oran Daly got the goals.
Action in the Uneven Ages in the Girls Divisions:
In the 13 Girls Premier Listowel Celtic were winners at home to Inter Kenmare. Laura Falvey and Holly Boyle scored for the home side with Phoebe O’Shea replying for Inter,
Goals from Orla Barrett, Izzy McGrath and SaraLynne Wharton gave MEK Galaxy a home win over Camp Juniors.
In 13 Girls Division 1 Aoife Begley scored in each half to give the St Brendan’s Park girls a 2-1 away win at Celtic Park. Casey Mulrooney replied for the Killarney girls. Castleisland had a hat trick from Edel O’Donoghue and 2 from Erin O’Connor in their win at home to Fenit.
Killarney Celtic Green made the trip to Dingle Bay Rovers a winning one thanks to goals from Emma Daly, Jessica Leggate and Hannah Casey while Roisin Quinlan and Ciara Kennedy replied for Dingle Bay.
In mid-week Dingle Bay Rovers 15’s defeated Camp Juniors in Dingle with the goals for the West Kerry side coming from Kayla Getkate, Emily Nic Gearailt and Ella Sheehy.
In the 17’s Fenit took the points from their game against St Brendan’s Park.
