Cups:
The quarter finals of the Uneven Cups were the highlight of this weekend’s action. In the 11’s Cup all four semi- finalists are now known. Before kick-off both Camp and The Park were guaranteed semi-finalists as both their A and B sides had drawn each other.
Out in Camp the A’s beat the B’s 4-1 thanks to Sean Kennedy and Cian O’Grady who both scores 2 each. Credit to the B side though who put up a good fight. Over in the Park and the A’s as expected also booked their place in the last 4 but again it was put up to them by the B side. Goals from Greg Scanlon, Colin Walsh, Luke Chester and Mervyln Shambala were the difference.
The other two semi-finals were very tight encounters which were in doubt up to the final whistle. Killarney Celtic’s Niall McGillicuddy got the only goal for Killarney Celtic as they won 1-0 at Kingdom Boys.
Listowel Celtic were 1-0 winners at home to Killarney Athletic and qualify for the semi-final thanks to a Sean Maguire strike.
The two 13 semi- finals were high scoring encounters with 13 goals scored between the 4 sides. Kingdom Boys were 3-2 winners at home to Listowel Celtic. Mikey Kelliher and Kevin Williams scored for the Tralee side with Cillian Spilane getting the two goals for Listowel Celtic. It was goal scorers supreme Darragh Lowth who got the winner to put Kingdom Boys in the last 4.
Killarney Celtic C had a great win over Killorglin after extra time. Jordan Lee and Conor Staunton had put the Killarney side ahead twice with Mark O’Connor and Mark Lynch replying to Killorglin to send the game to extra time.
In extra time Celtic C proved the stronger with Lee and Staunton both scoring their seconds and Cian O’Shea chipping in with one while Killorglin’s only reply came from Conor Sugrue.
The other two quarter finals between Inter Kenmare and Killarney Celtic A and Camp v Killarney Athletic will be rescheduled.
There is only one place taken in the 15’s semi finals. The three last four encounters between Mastergeeha and Park A, Killarney Celtic and B and Ballyhar v Kingdom Boys were postponed to give the Kerry 15 players a day off before they faced Cork what was in effect a Munster Inter League semi -final on Sunday.
Waiting for the winners of those three games are Inter Kenmare. A Denis Cronin goal was all that separated themselves and Camp.
Killarney Athletic Girls will face Listowel Celtic A in the semi finals of the Girls 12’s Cup. They defeated Killarney Celtic B 8-2 thanks to goals from Ciara Randles 4, Anna Hannagan 3 and Ciara Faulds. Shauna O’Donoghue and Chloe O’Connor scored for Killarney Celtic.
Listowel Celtic B are into the semi final of the Girl’s 14’s Cup after they knocked out Kingdom Girls.
