Moriarty’s Centra 11’s:
In a week where International football is back in the Kingdom many of the players who were in action at the weekend will be dreaming of maybe one day lining out for the country.
The 11’s action was curtailed but there was action in all three groups. In Group 1 The Park got the better of neighbours Kingdom Boy while Inter Kenmare and Killirglin drew. Camp got the better of The Park B and C in the double header.
Daly’s Supervalu 13 Premier:
The Park were too strong for Mastergeeha in Kilbrean Park and goals from Alfie Christie 2, Padraig McCannon, James Sheehan and Leon saw Tralee side open their campaign with a win.
Killarney Celtic went 1-0 down to Killorglin with Jack O’Connor netting for the home side. But Darragh Lyne equalised and Peter O’Sullivan the winner as the Hoops took home the points.
Division 1:
Killarney Athletic had goals from Danny Cronin, Seamus Gallagher and Tadgh Doolin and these were enough to defeat Inter Kenmare, who by all accounts had more chances than the one taken by Tom Murnane.
St Bernards laid down a marker as they made it two wins from two with a 3-1 win over Ballyhar. Adam Burke hit 2 and Keith O’Connor one for the winners while Dillon O’Callaghan replied for Ballyhar.
Division 2:
Listowel Celtic C travelled in to Tralee but took home the points as they beat Park B 6-3. Sean McGrath continued his great start to the season as he hit another hat trick. His three were added to by goals from Conor Hogan, Ronan O’Neill and Kevin Goulding.
Melvin Shambala got 2 for the Park with Tony Duggan netting the other.
Camp also won on the road as they took all three points in their clash with Fenit. Killian Falvey top scored with a hat trick while Gearoid Flaherty and Chris Keane got one each. Keavin McElligott will take some satisfaction from his hat trick but it wasn’t enough to earn anything for his side.
Killarney Plaza 15 Premier:
Killarney Celtic ran out 4-0 winners at home to Kingdom Boys but it was much tighter for a lot of the game. Celtic were only 1-0 up at half through Mark Harnett but in the second half Harnett added a second and Lorcan McMonagle and Oran O’Donoghue completed the scoring.
Mastergeeha also hit 4 in their win over The Park who only managed 1 in reply. Patrick Warren got 2, Brian Friel and Michael Mahoney one each.
Division 1:
Inter Kenmare are a new team and will take a bit to find their feet. They showed some promise but were not able to match a very strong Killorglin side. Conor Standen, Gary Mathews, Keelan Cahill and Shane Aherne were amongst the scorers.
A Donnchadh O’Sullivan free kick and a Shane Kennedy goal were enough to see Ballyhar keep the points are Murt Scott Park as they defeated Killarney Celtic B 2-0.
