Listowel Celtic Girls reach All Ireland Decider:
The Munster qualifier for the WFAI U12’s National Cup Blitz was held in Rathkeale with regular qualifiers Listrowel Celtic and newcomers to this level Inter Kenmare representing Kerry, due to being 1st and 2nd in the League last season.
Listowel Celtic have again reached the All Ireland decider which will take place in the AUL in Dublin on Sunday October 26th after topping their group with 4 wins from 4. They defeated Kilcolman Rovers, Cashel Town, Park United and Kilmallock.
Inter Kenmare went down to Ferrybank, who went on to qualify from this group, 2-0 in their first game. However credit to the girls the bounced right back and beat Ennis Town 2-0 before drawing their last game against Bandon United.
National Cup journey begins for Uneven Ages:
In the National Cup 13’s Round 1 only one Kerry side went out. Mastergeeha were drawing 2-2 with Nenagh at Kilbrean Park thanks to two goals from Brendan O’Leary. However while pressing for the win in the final quarter they were caught on the break and while chasing the game Nenagh added two more.
Killarney Celtic progressed without kicking a ball as Sporting Ennistymon didn’t travel. Listowel Celtic were too strong for Regional United B winning 7-1. The North Kerry side had seven different scorers – Ben O’Connor, Sean Stackpoole, Thomas O’Connor, Dylan Breen, Jake Shine, Kian Clancy and Emmet Kelly.
There were three great wins for Kerry sides on the road. Inter Kenmare won 3-0 in Kilmallock with goals from Corey Murphy 2 and Aodhan MacGearailt. St Brendan’s Park defeated Regional United 2-0 in Limerick thanks to Leon Daly and Darragh Caplis. Killorglin were also in Limerick and came home winners after knocking out Mungret Regional 3-0 with Dylan Moriarty netting a hat trick.
Three Through in 15’s Round 1:
The first round of the 15’s National Cup saw Mastergeeha defeat Killorglin away after extra time. It ended 1 all at the end of normal time with Dylan Murphy getting the Kilbrean side goal. In the shoot-out Mastergeeha won 3-1.
Killarney Athletic and Tralee Dynamos had great wins away. Athletic defeated Sporting Ennistymon 6-2 thanks to goals from Liam Kelliher, Tadgh Doolan, Keith Suter, Seamus Gallagher, Aaron Flynn and Harry Potts.
Tralee Dynamos had a tough start on and off the pitch away to Shannon Town but the showed great skill and belief to progress. The Tralee side went 1-0 down but goals from Codi Dauti, Sean Kennedy and Shar Chandhry saw them safely through.
The 11’s continued to develop their love of the game with friendlies taking place between Killarney Celtic and the Park and Tralee Dynamos taking on Killarney Athletic. With a number of teams from the clubs involved it was a great day out for the players.
Division 1 and 2 action in JK Sports 12’s:
With no premier action due to the National Cup’s it was the teams outside of this Division who took centre stage. In the JK Sports 12 Division 1 Ballyhar and Castleisland drew 2 all in Murt Scott Park. Colin O’Shea got both goals for the home side while Ryan Dennehy and Conor Wilkinson replied for Castleisland.
In a mid-week game in the same division Park B were 2-1 winners over Killarney Celtic B in Celtic Park. Thomas Dooley got the Celtic goal with was cancelled out by Adam Murphy before Sean O’Connell wrapped up the win.
Tralee Dynamos B and Killarney Athletic B got 12 goals between them with the Killarney side winning 8-4. Caoilte Cronin, debutant Hugh O’Malley, Sam Benson and Teddy Muldoon were the Athletic scorers with Niall Collins and Luke Horgan getting the Dynamos goals.
Three’s the magic number in Daly’s Supervalu 13’s:
Killorglin B were 3-2 winners at home to Killarney Celtic B in a tight encounter. Dara O’Grady got 2 for the winners with Matt Reinstenser adding the 3rd. Josh Livingston and Rory Dorrian got the Hoops goals.
Ballyhar and Park B shared six goals between them as they have to be happy with a point following a 3 all draw. Christopher Palmer, Ethan Campbell and Brian Butler scored for the boys from Murt Scott Park.
Nathan Rogers got the only goal for The Park C in Daly’s Supervalu 13 Division 2 but it wasn’t enough as Fenit hit 3. Iveragh United and Dingle Bay Rovers drew 2 all in their game. Keith Brennan and Cathal O’Shea scored for the South Kerry side with Mark Manning get the two for the West Kerry team.
Camp Juniors only winners in 14’s:
There was one game in the Foundation Sports 14’s Division 2 with Camp Juniors defeating Castleisland 2-1. Maurice O’Connell and Cian O’Grady scored for Camp Juniors while Conny O’Connor replied for Castleisland who were kept out on numerous occasions by Camp Juniors keeper Adam Costello.
Double for The Park in Killarney Plaza 15 Premier:
It was a busy and successful week for St Brendan’s Park in the Killarney Plaza 15 Premier. They defeated Inter Kenmare with goals from Leo Gaxha, Sean McGrath, Sebastian Vassiu, Jordan Barry, Mr=ervyn Shalemba and Junior Awkoma.
They followed that up with a win over Tralee Dynamos. This time the scorers were Sean McGrath with 2, James Rusk, Padraig McCannon, Junior Tishikato and Mervyn Shalemba. Cody Dauti replied for Dynamos.
4 goals for 3 winners in 15 Division’s 1 and 2:
In the Killarney Plaza 15 Division 1 Ballyhar hit 4 goals against Killarney Celtic B. Jason Brennan, Jack Duggan, and 2 from Dylan Callaghan gave them the points. Iveragh United also hit 4 in their win over Castleisland. Sonny Curran, Rory O’Shea, Ian Moriarty and Lewuis were the scorers.
In Division 2 it finished Fenit 2-4 Ballyheigue. Louis Gallas got both goals for the home side but 2 from Nathan O’Driscoll and one each from Conor Corrigan and Ciaran Casey gave the visitors the points.
